I chose "For the Birds." Pixar makes some great shorts... they do a good job of developing characters in such a short amount of time. And in the cases of Knick Knack, Geri's Game, For the Birds, Luxo Jr., and others, they do it without the characters ever even speaking. Pixar's the coolest!

It's high time for us to revise our lists with the two latest...

1. Geri's Game
2. Jack-Jack Attack
3. Boundin'
4. Tin Toy
5. For the Birds
6. Mater and the Ghostlight
7. Knick Knack
8. One Man Band
9. The Adventures of Andre & Wally B.
10. Luxo Jr.
11. Mike's New Car
12. Red's Dream

Yeah, it's still pretty much impossible to rank these. "Jack-Jack Attack" , "Mike's New Car", and "Mater and the Ghostlight" feel much different than the others, as they rely on characters created elsewhere and are full of dialogue. Beyond that, "Boundin'" is an anomaly too. It's pretty amazing how increasingly polished the studio's shorts have become.
Luke wrote:I have a tough time ranking these, because they're all good to excellent and produce very similar reactions. Nonetheless, here I go...

1) Geri's Game
2) Jack-Jack Attack
3) Tin Toy
4) Boundin'
5) For the Birds
6) Knick Knack
7) The Adventures of Andre & Wally B.
8. Mike's New Car
9) Luxo Jr.
10) Red's Dream

Geri's Game for me. I adore that short.

Geri's guest appearence in Toy Story 2 was one of the true joys and surprises of all my cinema-going experiences.

Here's how (with much difficulty and frustration) I'd rank them:

1. Geri's Game
2. Mike's New Car
3. Boundin'
4. Tin Toy
5. Knick Knack
6. One Man Band
7. Luxo Jr
8. Jack-Jack Attack
9. Red's Dream
10. For the Birds (I love it far more than the cruel process of ranking would have you believe)
11. The Adventures of Andre and Wally B

I don't have the Cars DVD, so I haven't yet seen Mater and the Ghostlight.

It would have to be Geri's Game for me. It's really sweet and adorable in an old man kinda way.

Geri's Game is probably my favorite Pixar short. It's quite funny, and enjoyable. Next up would probably be Boundin', which has a great moral.

Guys I have a question but did not want start a new thread just for it. I could have sworn that Tin Toy was shown in theaters right before Toy Story, but all the sources I have checked claim it was not. I saw the film in the theaters back in 1995, and I am nearly positive it was shown. Does anybody else know for sure? Was on the VHS copy? Either way, I'm nearly positive SOMETHING was shown before it, and I thought for sure it was Tin Toy?

My vote was cast for "Boundin" even though I really like "Geri's Game" also. But with the new release of "Cars" and the Easter Egg that is on it with Mater doing the 'boundin' it just revived my love for this short.

BUMP

I figured I could bump this thread now that we have a new Pixar short to discuss, "Lifted". Plus, I just watched them all today (:)) and I never participated in this thread before. My order, for the original Pixar shorts is as follows:

2. One Man Band (Cars)
3. For the Birds (Monsters Inc.)
4. Lifted (Ratatouille)
5. Boundin' (The Incredibles)
6. Geri's Game (A Bugs Life)
