Prince of Egypt - Ambitious, but a little bland. For a dramatic adult animated film, it has a lot to learn from Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Antz - The character designs are so hideous. I simply couldn't sit through it. If you're gonna make a CG bug film, do it like Pixar. A Bug's Life is my favourite Pixar film. There's no way I'll ever like Antz,

The Road to El Dorado - well, except for perhaps, Cinderella 2, this has to be the worst animated film ever. From the redicolous opening sequence to basicly anything that incolved the slutty village girl character this is a complete mess. I also kept screaming throughout the film "what was Elton John thinking??" Sorry I just really hate this film. :P

Spirit - Although the story is fairly safe and it doesn't touch on anything we haven't seen before in animation, this is by far my favourite Dreamworks film. If you take out the boring Bryan Adams songs and the voice-over you have an awesome film. For once the character designs looked pretty good as well. And it has some awesome animation.

Sinbad - this one was okay-ish. The villain was awesome. Yet the "tradigital" aspect of the film stood in the way. They completely over used computer animation. It annoyed the heck out of me.

Shrek 1 & 2 - Well if you're gonna make an animated comedy, this is probaply the most uninspired way to do it. Aside from the lame stories and uninspired jokes I also hate the character designs. The stiff horrible human design of Fiona is horrible. Compare it to any human Pixar design. They're all better. Heck, I think even Disney with their limited resources will be able to do it better. And whenever I compare Shrek 1 to Shrek 2... I can hardly tell where the animation has progressed. Pixar on the other hand keeps outdoing themselevs every minute.

Shark Tale - for once I've avoided a DW film. So can't say anything about it really. I hated the character designs once again. Are fish not allowed not to look like Fish?? whatever

Madagascar - this one looks interesting. The trailer was sorta funny and the character design I like. First time ever I'm looking forward to a DW film.

Overall, I thought their traditional movies had a lot more guts than their CG film. I hate Katzenberg's attitude lately, saying he and Pixar are the only ones in the business who know how to do it. Aside from Shrek, what does he have? If your only hit is a franchise of movies making fun of the competition and throwing in some burp gags and karaoke at the end... isn't it a littl sad ?? When Jeffry K said that... made me wish Chicken Little is gonna break all possible records out there.

I beg to differ. Shark Tale aside, and you have some wonderful features. Maybe not THE best, but far from being rip-offs!

In my eyes it dosent matter Disney will always be#1 but I can give props when they are deserved and Dream Works has done a few good things. I think before Shrek they really didn't thave much and really were tryingto hard to be like Pixar and not thinkingthier plots all theway through Antz (a bug's Life) , Toy Soliders (Toy Story). These were all movies that didnt catch my attetnion in the mean time though as Disney's 2-D animation began coming to a hult and focusing more on CGI Dreamworks's animation got better (Just kind of late in the ball game). I enjoyed the Prince of Eygpt and though I didnt see any of the other animiated movies I here they were pretty fair too.

It wasnt antill Shrek that Dream Works was finally able to leave its mark going with my point it wasnt an till they stopped trying to compete with Disney's Pixar in almost always having the same sort of plot or form of Chracters did they discover sucess. (So I was dissapointed with Shark tale *The Urban Finding Nemo*psh I mean what the hell??? How so thier plots are so different) I feel that Dream Works has gotten a bit comofrtable to soon and I agree with Krystal when she says that it seems like Dream Works is just trying to get famous voices behind the characters because they think thats what will bring the money in ( Just goes to show that Dream Works hasa lot to learn )

I have nothing against Dreamworks I think Shrek is great but other than that I am not impressed very much.

I LOVE the music in Spirit also! I have the soundtrack and can listen to it over and over, it's wonderful!

My sister couldn't get into the movie either, but I love it. It's one of those movies that people either love or hate, there seems to be no in-between.

I've seen...

Shrek: Liked it.
Shrek 2: Didn't like it.
Shark Tale: Liked it.
Antz: Didn't like it.

Dreamworks isn't that bad but they're no Disney that's for sure.

A DW animated film has yet to "wow" me. A few are ok- Prince of Egypt, Joseph, and I seem to remember liking El Dorado. Shrek and especially Shrek 2 were funny, but that's all they were- terrible story, dialogue, animation, execution, score, etc. They also don't hold up all that well to repeat viewings.

I've hated everything else I've seen from them (though I haven't seen Spirit, Sinbad, or Shark Tale, and don't immediately intend to see Madagascar either).

Ditto to everything in Patrick's post.

I Think Dreamworks is alright. Piaxar is alot better but Dreamworks does have a few good films.

The Prince Of Egypt: I thought this film was very good. The animation was amazing the music was good plus it had a good story.

The Road To Eldorado: I thought this film was alright. It was a disney wanna be. It had good animation, alright music and story, but no memorable chracters IMO. This is a good film to see on a saturday matinee.

Spirt: Only saw some of it and IMO it was too kidyish. I didnt like it.

Sinbad: never saw it

Antz: It was alright wasnt fond of the animation plus it was funny.

Shark Tale: I hated this film :x . IMO it wasnt a finding nemo ripoff it just came out at the wrong time. If It came out in 2008 ppl would not mention Nemo. I just didnt like it because it was stupid and i hate rap music.

Shrek: I love this film. IMO its better than any pixar movie (please sont get mad at me) an it was very funny  . Also it had great music and memorable chracters.

Shrek 2: I also love this film but the original film was better. Puss In Boots stole The Show the old chracters are still memorable but the new ones werent really. The music was also very good in this and had a good message.

Chicken Run: I didnt like this film... just stupid in my opinion. Upcoming Dreamworks films.

Wallace and Gromit: Well IMO it looks dumb plus chicken rn taught me a lesson.

Madagascar: IMO this film looks great. It looks new and original. From what i saw in the previews this movie is going to be alot of fun to see and watch. It also looks very funny

I'm going to come out the closet and actually admit that I think that Dreamworks are okay. I think that they can be a bit pretentious in terms of animation (the climax of El Dorado and some of the animation of the human characters in the first Shrek look a bit too far reaching and plastic) and I understand that some of their jokes are a bit too risque (I was annoyed that some of their movies didn't get a PG rating in England), but the films are generally good. Of course, most of the films made by Pixar and Disney have been better, but I do feel some people on this board are too harsh on Dreamworks.

I agree w/you on Shark Tales, but you found Spirit "too kiddish", really, I thought it was more adultish w/the narrator/storyline. The graphics were breathtaking, but then again I also love horses.
