Never tried it. Never wanted it. Often makes me sick to smell it.
Walked out of Wal-Mart today to have a cigar smoker standing right at the doorway!! I HATE that! They should be required to stand several feet from the door so I don't have that disgusting scent billowing into my lungs.

I know, I am fifteen and have four more years of being a teen ahead of me, but I can confidently say that I never have and never will smoke.
My Grandma does though, and she hates me for my anti-smoking Public Service Announcements I give her everytime I am around her.
When we go out to eat and my Grandma insists we sit in the smoking section I sit as far away from her as possible and put my shirt over my nose. She hates me even more for that.

Just kidding, it's California.

I do smoke and I'm not about to quit. In US every year about 4 times more people die of the health problems related to obesity than to tobacco...
After all - I like to smoke

Do I smoke?
Only when inflamed with passion!

No, I don't smoke. Aided by constant ad campaigns against it in England and the fact that I'm a doctor's child, no smokes for me. Well, maybe if I fall into a fire...

I have never smoked and plan on continuing that trend. It's a habit I do not want to get involved with.

Me? Only
crack and only on special occasions (like Easter!

), so
THAT'S where I draw the line! I wouldn't touch a cigarette with a ten-foot pole.

Looks like I'm in the minority here.

Of course, I think there's a lot of teens and young adults here, and it's good that you guys are avoiding it.
Personally, I think that smokers get stereotyped a lot. I can totally understand it being banning from restaurants and stores because of second-hand smoke and stuff, but I get sick of hearing how stupid I am for being the occasional smoker. I know the stats and I know the risks; I've even lost a few loved ones to cancer. And when I do smoke, I'm sure to stay away from anyone that might be offended by the smoking. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that the average person doesn't know anything about my life or the circumstances that made me start; I suffered through undiagnosed clinical depression for
years. And do you know how hard it is to quit? I struggled with that for a while, but I've seriously cut down. I'm not quite ready to totally give it up, though. Maybe when I have nothing left to get stressed out over?
I hope no one thinks I'm getting overly-defensive here, as I'm certainly not accusing any of you guys of feeding into those stereotypes. I'm just saying that there's a lot of people in this world that do.
I wrote a poem about smoking once (yeah, of all things), perhaps I should share it here?

Haha- I don't think any of us will ever reach that point... at least not for long. If only!

what's it about (the poem)? So, I guess that means..."yes, please share it."
Actually,
Sunset Girl, I can understand the points you made above. I've never smoked, but in my Physiobiology class, we've touched up on "drugs"; Nicotine is the most addictive drug and it's hard for smokers to quit. People who are usually stressed or depressed turn to it for its...effects. It's really hard to explain (took a whole week just discussing Smoking!

)
it's okay Sunset Girl, i'm not close-minded about it. I have relatives who smoke and can't quit...
Hope the stress in your life decreases...
Yea,
Aaron...we're all wishing stress would leave us!

Okay, here goes. I dug out my book so I could type it here. I think I wrote this about five years ago. . .
* * *
Smoke and Serotinin
I want to hold this breath forever
and forget what it will do
I have to keep myself together
I cannot lose to you
I will not hide nor cry today
I will not bruise my skin
I'm going to make it through all this okay
I"m not going to let you win
I'll smother you like the demon you are
I'll drive you out of my mind
At this point I've let it go way too far
I won't let you carry me blind
So let me carefully draw this breath
This poison dulls the pain
So what if this act is sure to spell death
It just might be keeping me sane

I don't smoke. First of all, it bothers my contacts when smoke gets near my eyes. Second of all, it makes your clothes and hair really stink. My husband quit and now smokes occassionally. He tries to hide it but everytime he smokes I can smell it as soon as we talk to each other.

I'm not a teen anymore (I'm 23) but I've never smoked. The whole idea makes me sick. I think smoking tobacco should be made illegal myself, but that's just my viewpoint. I'm glad we've banned smoking in restraunts up here, it was annoying going for dinner and walking into a cloud of smoke
