I'm a scarycat when it comes to scary movies I'm not able to sleep for about a week if the movie stays in my mind. But I still watch them and some of my favorites are:
-Omen
-The Exorcist
-Freddy Kruger(Not sure if I spelled that right)
-Child's Play (1st part only)

The "R" of RJKD looooves horror.

I wish I liked those movies.
I can't say I watch a horror movie because 75% of the time, I'm closing my eyes.

Yea, i'm a wimp.

I like horror movies, but generally I prefer my horror viewing to be films with black humour. That said, there are plenty of "straight" horror films what are exceptional films. It's just a shame people look down on the genre on the whole.

Exceptional Horror Films:
- Don't Look Now
- Exorcist III (Yes, I'm one who thinks its better than 1)
- The Wicker Man
- Witchfinder General
- Blood on Satan's Claw (although, it must be said, the devil's plan is stooopid)
- The Mummy [1932]
- The Blair Witch Project (terrifying if you actually *think* about what you see - or don't see)
- Magic (I really want to see this again, the dummy freaked me out when I really was old enough to know better)
- The Ring (US) as well as the Japanese Ringu and Ring 0:Birthday
- The Fog

I would also put Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me in this category - it's one of the most nightmarish films I know of.

Good Horror Films with comedy:
- Freddy Vs Jason
- Bride of Chucky
- Friday 13th Pt 6 (and Pt 8)
- Jason X
- The Invisible Man [193?]
- The Evil Dead (especially 2)
- From Dusk To Dawn

And I also like the Dark Castle remake of The House on Haunted Hill. I don't care what anyone else says, it's class.

I'm sure that there are lots more from each category I've forgotten.

I also have a soft spot for the "anthology" horror films - Asylum, Creepshow, The House That Dripped Blood, Dr Terror's House of Horrors and Tales From the Darkside etc. Oh, and don't forget The League Of Gentlemen's Christmas Special too.

My favorite Friday the 13th flicks are the ones with humor, especially parts 3 and 8. But I think 3 is definitely the best, you can't TOUCH that finale! Bride of Chucky is also a very funny and enjoyable horror movie. I still enjoy From Dusk Till Dawn every time I see it. It's like a Mexican-tinged The Thing (JC's version) for the '90s.

I can't believe that McFarlane is making a Killer Klown action figure!

Well if you do secure a copy of it, at $7.50 at WalMart- that DVD is a STEAL!!! Plus, over 3 hours of bonus features...

If/when you do see it, watch it with your inner-child in check- you'll enjoy it a lot more that way.

I'm not really into horror movies...(though I did like The Ring and The Others)...I'm not the type to get scared/have nightmares from movies,it's just the majority of the ones I've seen are too gory(I hate seeing blood and guts in live-action movies,in animation,I can usually handle it better)...

I do like horror movies. I use to like them a lot more when I was younger. A few years ago I started having very graffic nightmares where people die and stuff so I can't watch horror movies if I am about to go to sleep. I think I only have 3 in my collection of dvds which I guess is kind of sad. Maybe if I wasn't in the criminal justice field my imagination would not be the way it is and I could watch horror movies more often.

Just saw a commercial for this classic remake.. Looked pretty good..

I watched The Village but it wasn't scarry at all, as a matter of fact it was quite disappointing to me.

Few complaints about the way that was marketed, actually. It really is a moody little period piece drama about the small community (with a few scares thrown in), but it is marketed as horror film.

I find two problems with M. Night's films:
The twist kinda ruins some repeat viewings, especially in the Village. I watched The Village twice, but found the second viewing wholly unsatisfying once I knew the end.

People expect the twist now, or expect something out of a M. Night film. He isn't really doing anything to stop people from having that belief either. He needs to do a movie with no twists, in a genre that would otherwise lend itself to twists, just to screw with people.

Here I actually thought about it, and made a list. They're mostly Stephen King films.
