I really wish that the Short SMALL ONE was included somewhere on one of the DVD's on this press release. I really want that one.
Oh well...
I am pretty excited about Father of the Bride though.
But c'mon...An UNRATED version of Coyote Ugly?
Ooo! We threw in a sex scene into a movie,
Let's put it on DVD and make some money!
Can't they do better than that!
There are other movies that deserve better treatment...
Oh well.
I guess for now I'll just have to be content with the fact
that my Incredibles DVD today rocked, and that Pocahontas and Cinderella will hit DVD next year.

Actually this year. I bet that is what you meant though.
I was hoping we would get to hear about another animated series on DVD like Gummi Bears and some DuckTales info but sadly it was not to be. Ah well the year is still young!

Yeah I was hoping a BMW announcement would be scheduled too. I called Disney Marketing this afternoon, though, and there still wasn't a date scheduled and he had no info (I called yesterday for something else and got the same guy... what are the chances?).

Disney Channel Original Movie(s)
I'm not 100% sure

99%
It is Disney Channel Original Movies. In an email I sent to Disney I was typing that so many times, and when I sent this last year it was faster to type DCOm so I abbreviated it. About 6 months later. Disney Channel starting using that abbreviation. for all their DCOMs
P.S. I am really mad about bHalloweentown and Halloweentwon II being on one disc. NO!!!!! Ill post more later but I gotta run to skool!

I was amazed to find out from UD of the details released by Disney on these upcoming products. The night before (Monday), I called D to see if any more info was available on Johnny Tremain, The Orig. MMC... I think I even tried to get more on the Treasures. Every response was that there was no info. All the operator had on JT was that it was available on VHS!
And here, UD already had preliminary announcements on stuff last week....

I'm excited about the disneyland dvd. We have a vhs of singalong songs called "Disneyland, It's a Small World" I wonder if that will be included as the sing along songs special feature (and I wonder how much of it). It is pretty good, as far as singalong songs go (but I'm a parks fan).
I can't believe that they already have a sequal for pooh's huffalump movie. wow.

I'm sooo glad about the release of Desperate Housewives 'co it's just one of my top-10 shows of all times !
I'm just disapointed that the DVD release will display the episode in a 1:33.1 frame since it was show on TV in a 1.78 High Definition !
Such a loss of image ! I hope they'll change their minds about the aspect ratio !

TIMELESS TALES VOLUMES 1 & 2
STREET DATE: August 16, 2005, SRP: $19.99 for each volume
VOLUME 1:
The Prince And The Pauper – Mickey, Donald and Goofy star in the classic story of mistaken identities.
The Three Little Pigs – This milestone of Disney animation features the now-famous song “Who’s Afraid of the
Big Bad Wolf?” and won the Academy Award® for Best Animated Short, 1933.
The Tortoise And The Hare – Disney’s animated version of the famous fable won an Academy Award® for Best
Animated Short, 1935.
The Grasshopper and the Ants – In this animated treat, a lazy grasshopper prefers to sing and dance rather than
forage like his friends the ants. When winter comes, the ants save the grasshopper in return for musical
entertainment. The film introduced the now-classic song “The World Owes Me A Living.”
The Pied Piper – An animated version of the legendary fable. When the Pied Piper lures the rats from Hamelin
Town but is not paid in gold, he leads the children of the town away to the magical Garden of Happiness.
Preorder Timeless Tales: Volume 1 from Amazon.com
The Pied Piper is the only short here not on the Treasures DVD. I really don't want to buy this for the one short. When are more of the Silly Symphonies going to be released as the Disney Treasures?
VOLUME 2:
The Wind In The Willows – Mr. Toad’s mania for motorcars lands him in jail, and drives his dear friends Moley,
Rat and Angus MacBadger into a panic. This delightful fantasy, one of the most famous in children’s literature, is
set in storybook England. It features outstanding animation from the first “Golden Age” of the Disney Studio.
The Ugly Duckling – A little duckling is initially shunned by his family but wins out in the end, in this animated
version of the famous story by Hans Christian Andersen.
Ferdinand The Bull – Ferdinand is a fearsome-looking bull who actually just wants to take time to smell the
flowers. Not even a matador and the bullring can make him change his mind. This film won the Academy Award®
for Best Animated Short, 1938. Walt Disney himself is caricatured among the characters at the bullfight.
The Country Cousin –When Abner, a mouse from Podunk, visits his big city cousin Monty, he learns that the city
may not be the best place for him. This film won the Academy Award® for Best Animated Short, 1936.
Preorder Timeless Tales: Volume 2 from Amazon.com
Here too Ferdinand the Bull is the only new one. It is about time a Disney Treasures volume 2 of Silly Symphonies is released.
I thought I heard that Johnny Tremain was going to be released this December as the Disney Treasures. Is this not the case?

I must have confused it with Swamp Fox. Is Johnny Tremain worth getting or do you think it will be released on Disney Treasures? I like collecting all the older movies and shorts together on Disney Treasures.

I'm mostly looking forward to the Disneyland DVD, although I hope that it's more than a 90-minute long advertisement. The really sad thing is that even if it is, I'm sure I'll enjoy it!

I'm not sure why Johnny Tremain would wind up in the Treasures. Though it began production intended as a Disney television movie, it did become a theatrically-released feature film. And while it is a rarity, it's not really a 1-of-a-kind type of thing like The Reluctant Dragon or Victory Through Air Power. This will probably be the only DVD release the film gets.
DisneyDork wrote:I thought "The Muppet Show SE" dvd was due this year too?

Season 1 of "The Muppet Show" is rumored to be expected late 2005 or early 2006. That it's not listed in this announcement doesn't mean it's not coming, since I imagine "late 2005" could very well be sometime in the fall, beyond the listings of this announcement. Or it could even be sometime before October, as these aren't complete. I haven't heard anything new on this, though, there does seem to be some weight to the rumors, hence why it shows up on UD's upcoming Schedule.

Luke wrote:They're clearly trying to do something with the brand and if that something is bonus features for us, then I say, bravo! (Well I don't really say that, but I think that.)
I don't know how many of you watch the disney channel but the always have short little Behind-the-scenes things and now they started putting DCOM and the name of the movie for the title of the feature, so I'm sure it's going to be those Behind-the-scenes shorts which is kind of bad because the aren't that good but they have more than one so they will probably put them all together and hopefully add more things or else it will only be like 5 - 10 min

So no news of DR SYN? Isn't that supposed to be out this year?
Also, am I the only person excited at the release of THE BOATNIKS? Sorry, but I love Stephanie Powers. She's a honey!
