Jayden wrote:Well, I recently picked up copies of Mickey Mouse In Black And White, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Silly Symphonies, The Chronological Donald: Volume 1, and The Complete Pluto: Volume 1
I'm glad I got all of these DVDs (although Silly Symphonies was damaged, I'm getting Disney to replace it through their disc replacement program) as they're all OOP now and getting very difficult to locate.
I also want to get A Bugs Life but it's not incredibly high on my priority list yet (although it's getting there, I'm starting to get worried that it'll go OOP soon)
I'm glad to hear that you managed to get your hands on a copy of Bambi so early. It's a good movie, although I didn't like it enough for me to get it on DVD.
In terms of the Dumbo: SE. No official announcement has been made, but I'd bet my money that one will come soon enough. Who knows when though? It's really hard to say sometimes with Disney
The Classic Cartoon Favorites DVDs, while I don't own any, are essentially a small collection of shorts relating to a particular character or theme. Essentially, they are watered down versions of the Walt Disney Treasures line. If you can, get the treasures, as they are a lot more comprehensive (Every Mickey Mouse short is available and most of Goofy is as well. Donald and Pluto are well on their way and are expected to be completed within the next couple of waves) and have some great shorts that you never see on a mass release like the CCF.
Well, I hope that answers all your questions. Welcome to the board and don't be afraid to ask questions. Someone here will answer them
Where did you get Silly Symphonies?

I bought Silly Symphonies previously viewed from Blockbuster Video in my area (the same one I found Mickey Mouse In Living Colour at). Keep your eyes open everywhere, you never know where one will turn up. And don't be afraid to buy used, sometimes it's the only way to get these OOP DVDs

If they have it only available to rent, take it to the front and ask them if there is a possibility it would go on sale, as you show interest in it (and if it's not a big renter) they may be willing to sell it to you
Disneys that I bought lately.

Last week I bought Piglet's Big Movie, and today I got Bambi Platinum Edition. Last week I also spent a lot of money on non-Disney items.

My local video store does this a whole lot. It specializes in new releases but it keeps some of the better releases around forever but if you ask they'll be willing to sell and at a good price too.

I've had a busy week. Thanks to Best Buy and Target, here's what I got this week:
Bambi PE w/ Plush Thumper
Make Mine Music (trying to complete my collection of animated features)
Follow Me, Boys
The Love Bug SE (Wonderful 2 Disc Set! And a steal at $9.99)
Escape from Witch Mountain (My wife's fave...)
The Parent Trap (Original, 2 Disc Vault Disney set. I heard that people were getting the ol' bait and switch at Target, so I price matched this one at Best Buy.)
I'll get Incredibles on the 15th, then I better slow down on the DVD purchases until Pocahontas AE.
Disney movies I've purchased

I'm going to include movies I bought since last Dec. (04), plus what I got for Christmas:
WDT Mickey Mouse in Black and White V1
WDT Mickey Mouse in Black and White V2
WDT Mickey Mouse Club
WDT Disneyland
Mary Poppins 40th Anniversary Ed.
North Avenue Irregulars
Never a Dull Moment
Follow Me, Boys!
Chip N Dale
I'd like to purchase either WDT Davy Crockett or the Davy Crockett 2-movie DVD, and Summer Magic, Bambi and The Incredibles. I'm going to have to save $$ for the four Treasures coming out in Dec. Cinderalla may be a good purchase also. That is my favorite Disney animated classic.
If Dr. Syn Alias the Scarecrow comes out, I'll get that, too.
