Are there any updates about the films release date??

I am very disappointed that Lilo will have a new voice. I'm still not happy about Mushu's new voice in Mulan II. That has to be one of my biggest peeves! It's okay to change the voice of a character with small parts but not a main character! Maybe it's just me, but I can't watch a movie the same way knowing a character has a new voice.

Dakota Fanning? Honestly, I have not seen one movie of hers and she seems to be in a lot of movies lately.

Is redoing the voice with Daveigh an option?

I checked imdb. It is a different voice! It sounded like Eddie Murphy.

This just ruined my excitement towards the movie

I never had anything against Dakota Fanning but now i really don't like her

She sounds nothing Like Daveigh as seen on the Bambi/Mulan 2 previews

Yeah Mark Moseley did do a good job with Mushu but I sure can't say the same for Dakota Fanning

Well, Dakota is just. . . Dakota. She seems like a fine actress to me. She can't help it if she can't do a good Daveigh impersonation, though. So don't hate her, hate the ignorant people that failed to realize that girls' voices don't change as quickly as boys' and chose to cast her over Daveigh!

Mark Moseley did the voice of Mushu in "Mulan II" and in every other Disney show Mushu has been in (Except "Mulan") like "Disney Princess Party: Volume Two", "Kingdom Hearts" Video Game, "House of Mouse", "Arcade Frenzy", "Mulan Story Studio" and "Disney Sing-Along-Songs: Circle of Life".

Apparently, Mark Moseley does Eddie Murphy's voice well because he was also the voice of Donkey in the "Sherk 2" Video Game, "Shrek in the Swamp Karaoke Dance Party" and when Donkey guest starred on "Father of the Pride". I saw that episode and I thought for sure that was Eddie Murphy! I was wrong. Sounded exactly like him though...at least as Donkey. But I can tell the difference between Eddie Murphy's Mushu and Mark Moseley's Mushu, though. But I do think he does a decent job though.

I wonder how many people would have watched this movie and not even noticed it was a different person doing the voice if it wasn't for the fact it had been widely advertised?

I get the felling that a lot of people will deliberately look for differences in the voice instead of just watching the movie.

The same goes with Mushu in Mulan II with Eddie vs. Mark.

I bet the people who don't visit the UD forum and don't know about Dakota voicing will probably enjoy the movie more than the UD members who know about Dakota.

I looked up Gantu on IMDB (well the actor not Gantu that character). Anyhow, I was surprised to see that he also did Sebastian for Kingdom Hearts. I knew something was fishy (no pun intended)about Sebastian's voice in that game. It's just really weird that Gantu is also Sebastian. Or maybe it's just me. N/m...

Click on About the Movie, and then Cast. Kelly Stables is playing Samara. Of course its possible, Davleigh Chase may still appear briefly in the movie in flashbacks to the original movie, but she's not been hired for any new Samara scenes.

IMDB isn't wrong. If you actually go and look under Daviegh Chase rather than "The Ring Two", under her list of credits it does not have her listed as her acting in "The Ring Two". It does, however, list it for her under Archive Footage "The Ring Two" - Samara. So, 2099net, you did guess right about flashbacks to the original movie.

If the problem was voice maturity then why does Dakota Fanning's voice sound more mature than Daveigh Chase's????

This is wierd because doesnt Daveigh Chase do the voice of Lilo in the TV series? If she is the appropriate voice there then why not in this movie? Plus I dont really like Dakota Fanning.

Goofy, I answered that question in detail on page one.

I think a lot of fans are initially gonna be disappointed in the change in voice. Still, I'm gonna give it a chance; sometimes I can deal with a new voice artist. But as it's been said here, so much of Lilo's personality relies on Daveigh's voice, and from the trailer, Dakota hasn't quite hit it.

Maybe it would have worked better if they visually made Lilo a little older.

We hate Dakota fanning simply because she's not likable, either as an actress or as a personality. She plays disturbing roles. She scares the crap out of grown men. She's EERIE. And I don't mean that in a good way. You look at her in the movies and get the sense that she could give the Children of the Damned a run for their money, not to mention the Children of the Corn and the Bad Seed combined!

Fairuza Balk was disturbing to watch as a child. But we still felt for her. Christina Ricci was a borderline psychotic in the Addam's Family movies but we wanted to adopt her. Dakota Fanning....we just want her to go away!
