Alapage ( http://www.alapage.com/mx/?id=308681062 ...

Hey, that French edition looks pretty damn groovy...

And is that 1.66:1 I see? Isn't that the correct aspect ratio?

THAT is good, right?

Bonjour!

Yes, 1:66 : 1 is the original aspect ratio. I believe the Imax version was matted to 1.85 : 1.

Au revoir

Well, that alone seems like a worthwhile reason to pick up the French edition...
Looks like I might be getting this in addition to Aladdin...
Oh dear...starting down 2099's dark path of buying multiple copies...

I noticed something on Amazon.fr:

Format image :
Cinémascope - 1.66:1
Full Screen (Standard) - 1.33:1

Will there be two video versions of the film :?

Based on other [admittedly UK] reelases, the 1.33 standard comment is reffering to the aspect ratios of [some of] the supplements.

I'll have a look on my French Sleeping Beauty disc and see if they list 2.35 and 1.33 on the same packaging (the International releases only have the widescreen version of the film)

France always gets the best coverarts, and "Lion King" is no exception...
