It would be super awsome if they made a feature lenght doc on the Nine much like the one on Walt.

If you're interested in a book on this subject you may want to check out "Walt Disney's Nine Old Men and the Art of Animation" by John Canemaker, the same man that produced the documentary on the Peter Pan dvd. I own this book and give it my highest recommendation. I have enjoyed reading it many times over. I've included a link to the listing on Amazon for this book.

I have that book too. Boughtit at Disneyland a few years ago. Awesome.

It depends on what you need to have animated... all of them were excellent at different things. For instance, I'd lots rather have Marc Davis supervising the pretty, female characters, and I'd put Ollie over the comic relief and Frank over the emotional stuff. I've heard that Lounsbery did some amazing stuff on the Jungle Book that was cut from the film. The reason we all go back to Frank and Ollie is probably because of the books they've done and the documentary made about them. I'm sure we'd be equally impressed by all of them if we had a better idea of all of the scenes they did. Each of the nine was amazing.

The reason they're the nine old men is because they were all fantastic at something. For example, Ollie was really good and finding ways for characters to connect to each other in an emotional way. Milt was a superb draftsman who never settled for mediocrity. There was always a since of pushing the envelope with his work. Frank Thomas could drive home subtle acting like no one else.

They each had their own preferences, strengths and weaknesses, but it was the symbiosis of the nine that made the films gel.

Can anyone reccomend any good websites to read some information on the nine, the specific characters or scenes they worked on and such.
