point being that Plantinum Edition is not really Plantinum Edition but just a measly special edition

when I get a Disney Plantinum Edition, i expect nothing but high par like Lord of the Rings Extended Edition par, hahaha

That may be, but there's no denying it that for the PE DVD, BATB was presented for the first time on home video at 1.85:1. Every presentation on home video before that was either P&S 1.33:1 or WS 1.66:1. When viewing the movie on my LD (1.66:1), I see no framing issues that would lead me to believe that it wasn't inteded to be shown at this aspect ratio.

Well, I feel that there's too much emphasis placed on the name "Platinum Edition." All of the 2 disc sets put out by Disney are great (especialy the excellent "Alice In Wonderland", "Sleeping Beauty", and "Beauty And The Beast").

Forget the name when buying, and buy for quality. That's what I say anyways. It's quite clear that Disney puts a lot into their 2-disc sets. The only exception is The Lion King, where they seem to have tried to change the course of the line to fit kids a little better (luckily they steered the lines back on course with "Aladdin" and "Mulan")

I started collecting my Platinum Editions in 2004. So I missed out on getting the Snow White Platinum Edition is there any difference besides digital quality between the vhs and the dvd version. Am I really missing something good besides those extras?

The Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs PE video quality is abso-bloody-lutely fantastic (they cleaned the entire film up so it looks so... new). Years ahead of any other Snow White release before it and much better than the VHS in every way imaginable.

If you're asking whether or not they included some brand new never-before scene within the film--NO, thank heavens.
