Eleanor Audley from the ladies and David Odgen Stiers from the men.

Every time I hear Maleficent it's just... beautiful. Especially when she's paying a "visit" to King Stefan and his court and talking about how they've invited everyone ("even the rabble") and chuckles. She has a deathly beautiful voice.

Aaand Stiers from the guys. He's quite versatile and I never knew he voiced some of the characters he voiced in films. I did recognize him as the guy who comes out in the "Dead Zone" TV serie, though.

There are too many performances I enjoy to say that one overall is the greatest, but I'd have to say that Jim Cummings is certainly the most versatile voice actor in Disney's history. A few others voicing multiple Disney characters: Rob Paulsen, Maurice LaMarche, Corey Burton, Frank Welker, April Winchell, and Tress MacNeille.

And if you'll forgive a personal plug (although it's very on-topic) you'll find some photos of June Foray and other members of the "Mulan II" cast from the DVD premiere linked via a recent issue of my voice actors newsletter.

Ok, I changed my vote. I think the best is Chris Sanders a.k.a. the voice of Stitch. I just think that voice quality makes stitch who he is. I just laugh. It's too cute :)

Stitch's voice is one that most anyone can imitate -- that type voice is the first one that most aspiring voice actors learn that makes them think they can "do voices". I agree it's a cute voice, and Sanders gives a good performance. But calling it the "greatest"? Eh... well, I guess you're entitled to your opinion.

I don't think anyone mentioned Jodi Benson. Not very versitile, but she has a very distinctive and beautiful voice. And I agree, Eleanor Audley did a great job as Maleficent, but I've never heard her character in Cinderella.

Tony Jay's cool. He's got Beauty and the Beast, Hunchback oND (of course--Frollo!) and Treasure Planet under his belt. DOS is good too.
I also like Scott Weinger. Again, not very versitile, but distinctive and suits Aladdin very well.

Oh, I also like Wayne Allwine and Russie Taylor, The real-life and cartoon mouse couple.

OMG! I know exactly what you are talking about like when she says, "I had merely hoped it was due to some oversight, well then I best be on my way..." Ugggh! It gives my spine a tingle..

I love her as Ariel, and I think she was a lot of fun as Barbie. I also think she did a great job imitating Barbera Luddy's voice for Lady in the Lady and the Tramp sequel.

DD:

There are so many great voice actors ,but since I am a big Goofy fan I must say that Pinto Colvig is one of the best voice actors ever.Pinto Colvig created Goofy´s voice, including his famous laugh and he also voiced other Disney characters ,in the Three Little Pigs shorts he voiced the Practical Pig and in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs he did the voices of both Sleepy and Grumpy .
Clarence Nash was of course great as Donald .Actually many of the classic voice actors were very good.Just think of actors such as Florence Gill as Clara Cluck,Billy Bletcher as Pete and of course Walt himself as Mickey.
I think that the present voice of Goofy,Bill Farmer is one of the greatest current voice actors.

In my opinion, Jodi Benson and Page O'Hara have the greatest voices. Each one is immediately recognizable, and has a certain innocent quality to it that fits their characters perfectly

On the mens side, none other than..... Walt Disney! Yes, the creator and voice of Mickey Mouse wins my vote for best male voice. IMO, nothing can beat the voice of the original Mickey Mouse

Who's Page O'Hara? Did she do Belle? Whoever did Pocahontas had a beautiful singing voice. The speaking voice was good too. Usually I'd know these things, but since I don't have the DVD, I never looked at the credits to see who the VA is. :(

The only thing I think Jodi Benson didn't do a good job on was Anita in 101 Dalmatians 2. She didn't sound anything like the original Anita.

Yaanu:

Rob Paulsen
is the voice of 625, not 626. That's Chris Sanders.

But seriously, if I had to pick favorites, I'd choose them all. Cause nobody can do a one wo/man movie by themselves.

Frank Welker is the best! I hope he'll be doing voiced for a long time to come. He's done so much, I can't imagine what the industry would be without him.

Thanks for Reconstructing the thread Luke!

Yes, Paige O'Hara was the [beautiful] voice of Belle. Judy Kuhn did Pocahontas' singing voice; once again a lovely voice (and I honestly thought that Irene Bedard was singing...).

I have to add more to my votes. I would have to make my pick for best Male voice a tie between Walt Disney (His original Mickey voice is still amazing, and nothing can top it),

Sterling Holloway (His voice was immediately recognizable and great. I wish he had done more. He also voiced some of my favorite characters: Kaa and The Cheshire Cat),

and Jim Cummings (His impersonation of Sterling Holloway is spot on, I even thought that Sterling Holloway had done the voice of Kaa in Mickey's House of Mouse: Villains. That's before I learned that he passed on in 1992, R.I.P. Sterling Holloway, you will be missed!)

I like Jodi Benson, too. She just has this energetic, young, happy, innocent voice that fits Ariel perfectly.

I also like Robby Benson, the Beast, and Belle too...

I still have to see many movies again to talk about this; there's many I haven't seen in years!

Oh, I like Aladdin's voices too, especially his singing voice performed by Brad Kane.

And did I mention MARY COSTA? She's just great as Aurora, and she sings BEAUTIFULLY!!!

I've always like Phil Harris as Thomas O'Malley in Aristocats, Little John in Robin Hood, and of course as Baloo in The Jungle Book. Such a cool voice, not to mention soothing.

I had previously made a comment about the current push to have the voice talent for movies needing to be someone popular that the studios could promote -- so the characters become a part from a particular actor instead of becoming a character that stands alone.

This segment from the DVD review of The Incredibles from this site reminded me of this topic, so I thought I'd refer to it:
...and whether it's necessary to have celebrities voice animated characters. (George Clooney and Harrison Ford recorded a few lines as Mr. I, before the less prominent and more apt Craig T. Nelson's vocals were employed.)
I guess this is a subject that's talked about in the animator commentary on this DVD. I totally agree. I think that Craig T. Nelson was the best choice for this part. He became Mr. Incredible. If it was George Clooney or Harrison Ford, Mr. Incredible would have become them.
