You guys are crazy. All of the movies you listed have been released with good transfers and extras, with the exceptions of Alice in Wonderland, Pocahantas, and Mulan. I think they ought to put out some DVD's that haven't been released yet. I started my list, but since they are all Live-Action, I think I'll start another thread.

Oh, yes, the 5 minute featurette on Hercules shared so many juicy in-depth tidbits from the production, and the Gold Classic Trivia Games on releases like Robin Hood and Rescuers Down Under are sooooooo much better than commentary!

Well, I would have liked for Tarzan and Mulan to be rereleased next year as 2 disc sets, but since it does not look like that will happen here is a revised list.
2005
Tarzan
Mulan
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
2006
Hercules
The Sword in the Stone (maybe not probable)
The Fox and the Hound (maybe not probable)
2007
Don't really care...
I have a fealing all of the 90's flicks will end up with 2 disc SE's by 2007.

When you say lower-priced, does that just mean a re-issue of the old CE only for cheaper a la Bug's Life?

That would be my guess, and if disney rereleased Tarzan, that's exactly what would happen, it would be half the price (it would drop from $40 to $20, plus they might even add a few things, though it might just be fluff, but a reissue, for a lower price is still better than nothing!)

I think its safe to asume that the movies that had packed Laserdiscs will be released as special edition DVDs.
That means we should at least expect...
Pinocchio, Saldos Amgios/The Three Caballeros and The Hunchback of Notre Dame to have 2 disc dvd's.

Well Pinocchio will be part of the platinum collection, for the next cycle post 2007, so that's a given

. The Huchback, is also a given, since a 2 disc set was planned, the only question is will it be out, by 2007?

The Pinocchio set wasn't that packed really. But it did come with a lot of pack-in materials, such as a CD Soundtrack and hardcover book.
Still, it had the
full making of documentary, unlike the so called "Special Edition" being released around the world now, with an
edited five minute version.

this is a hard call but i hope it'll be something like this:
2005
Tarzan
Pinocchio
Mulan
2006
i liked the idea of a saludos amigos/three caballeros three pack, dont know who mentioned this but i like that. And than add sword in the stone. That movie deserves more credit i think

For the anthology features, I think they should do two movies a set, which works out well. Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros are about Latin America, Make Mine Music and Melody Time are about music, and Fun and Fancy Free and The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad are about classic stories.

2005- Hercules
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Robin Hood
2006-
Fun and Fancy free
Icahbod and Mr. Toad
Sword and the Stone
Maybe this is a dumb question since I am clueless when it comes to HDTV- After 2007 and Disney starts putting out their movies for HDTV will these be playable on a dvd player or only with HDTV players

Word on the street is that they will be backwards capadable, meaning both DVD's and HD-DVD's will play on the same player.

That actually doesn't answer her question. She asked if HD-DVD will be playable on standard DVD players or HD-DVD players only. The answer to that is, sadly, HD-DVD players only. Like Phillip said, HD-DVD players will be able to play standard DVD's, but it doesn't work the other way (HD-DVD's in standard DVD players).

The following quote is from the ultimatedisney homepage:
October 1, 2003 - The live action catalogue titles slated for early next year were confirmed today. Alice in Wonderland: Masterpiece Edition is officially slated for January 27, 2004; while the release dates for the 2-disc Pocahontas and Lilo & Stitch releases are still up in the air.
Is that what the 2 disc set is being called? The Masterpiece Edition? What about Special Edition? They're not starting up another line are they, cause I like Special Edition just fine! Oh and Luke where was this confirmed?

It's in the info sent to retailers. It's referred to as both a Masterpiece Edition and a Special Edition, so I really don't know what's up. Of course, if it is actually coming January 27, it's going to hit presses soon, so they really should be letting us know what the deal with this is. Speaking of which, the Treasures are probably pressed...they really ought to let us know what's on those.
