I would never be able to cut the proof of purchases from any DVDs. They are too precious to me! I hope the photocopying idea works.

I like the idea of collecting stickers and sending those in. The Gold Collection had stickers but I never really paid much attention to what those were about but it would be nice if those were the proof needed and the receipt.

I received my free dvd today. I am surprised by how fast it was processed and sent. I only mailed it to them about 2 weeks ago and I already got the dvd.

is disney really serious about the whole you have to buy the dvd in the state you live in?? I just moved to MD, but I bought some in VA prior to the move. Will they not accept this?? I just mailed it in too...

They might not take you to task on that; Internet orders are acceptable and those are from out-of-state. I'm not even sure what the point of that stipulation is, but if I were them, I'd be glad to reward anyone who bought three Disney DVDs. But I'm not them.
Sooooo, should I chop up the dvd's and try?

I don't know, but I think Gage Marketing (typically in charge of this promotion) can be reached here: 1-763-479-4179. If you'd want to find out if they'll honor it without cutting up the POPs unnecessarily, you can give them a call, I guess. They should either dissuade you or assuage your fears.

Bleh, I gave in and cut out the proof-of-purchases off 3 of my Disney DVDs to send in. It makes me sad that I had to do it but... I'll live (I think

).

That is why i never participate in any of disney's deals like that because most of the time it involves cutting out the proofs of purchase and i would never cut up any of my dvds.

I sent my form, copies of proof of purchases, original receipts and check for $1.99 on 11/15. So far, I have not gotten anything yet. Hello everyone! I am writing to give you an update on my free dvd status. Today, my free dvd (The Rescuers) arrived in the mail. I DID NOT cut the proof of purchases off my dvds. All I did was make a copy of the backs of my dvds and sent them in. I am not promising this will work for you but it did work for me.

Hey! I got mine today too! And I only sent in my request the beginning of December. Last year I sent it at the same time and didn't get it until February! Anyhow, I remember a similar thread in which ppl sent photocopies of the tabs and a letter explaining why they didn't cut their tabs. Did you do this too, danamichelle? If not, I'm glad it worked for you!
Also, I'm not so sure if the Consumer Order Lookup link is being updated because it still says nothing about my order and I already got it.
If we have three more DVDs could would do the offer again?

Hi Kram Nebuer,
Yes, I did send photocopies of the backs of my dvds and a letter explaining why I didn't want to cut my proof of purchases. My information is not updated on the disney dvd site either.
I think you can only get one free disney dvd with that particular offer. They will probably do it again next year.

Glad to know it worked!
Happened a bit too late for me to save my own DVD covers, though. Well, there's always next year! (:

Has everyone gotten their new dvds from this offer yet? One of my friends mailed his off in the first month of the offer, and I mailed mine off in early decemeber. Well, it's been 6 to 8 weeks and I haven't gotten it and the web site isn't displaying it either! I want to know if everyone's gotten theirs.

I sent mine off a little after Christmas and I haven't received my DVD yet nor does the Buena Vista site display my order as being processed (yknow, the whole "Sorry" spiel).

I received mine a few weeks ago. But the movie they sent me was not the one I ordered. My first choice was Cool Runnings, followed by The Tigger Movie, and 3rd choice was The Rookie - Widescreen.
So they end up sending me The Rookie - fool screen.

That's crap. Not only do they send you the worst movie of the three, but they chop off 40% of the picture first? I'd rather have the cut-out proofs of purchases myself!

I guess it's rush hour for Disney right now or something. I requested a slipcover from them about 10 days ago and I haven't received it yet (I usually get whatever I request exactly 7 days later).
Hm, I'll call them up on the 14th day and ask them to resend if I don't get it by then. ):

We really wanted cool runnings..."feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme"...so it made me mad we didn't get that one. Other than that, there wasn't anything I particularly wanted. The whole full screen edition/wide screen edition thing is so stupid. Nobody ever releases CDs with the first minute and last minute of each song cut off. So why do they release movies with the left and right sides cut off?

Stupid versions for stupid people.
And that really sucks that you got
The Rookie in pan & scan. I find it hard to imagine that they got rid of all their widescreen copies (as far as I know this movie isn't all that popular) and only had the chopped up ones but Disney has no rhyme or reason when it comes to such things as this.
Actually, I find it hard to imagine that Disney had no more DVDs of
Cool Runnings and
The Tigger Movie laying around... HM.
