well, it is not that this film scares children, it´s just that they won´t be interested about it as they are for kiddier movies like Nemo, Home on the range... they´ll get a little bored.

As Wonderlicious said, you simply get another perspective about this movie when you grow up a little, and you get to apreciate all the work behind it.

I disagree. I was 12 when the film was released, and it's dark a mature elements are what I appreciated most about the film. It's pushes the limits of animated film at every turn. Weather it be through it's dealing with racism, sexuality, religion or violence, ( and yes it taps into all of these) I 've always enjoyed this film for those elements, and saw it 3 times in the theater as a child, because I loved it's boldness.

I recently read an article over a savediseny.com that said, that audiences were put of by it's unusual and non-traditional storyline. Especially because Quasi doesnt' get the girl. That was always one of my favorite parts of the story. And I think it's a great lesson to children that they aren't always going to get what or who they want in life and that sometimes you just have to move on. I've have always loved the film for it's realism, even as a child. I'm not saying all children will all have the same take on it as I did, but I certainly don't think there's a standard concensus for how they will see it.

i bought thid dvd last night. do you think it's worth to wait for the 2 disc edition? i've seen this already anyway.

I think it depends of WHEN is actually the two disc edition (if will ever get releseased) will come, last year I bought Mulan and Pocahontas Gold collection editions, now I don´t know where to hide them because of the great new 2 disc editions
