Saw it last night and had a great time! The animation was unbelievably spectacular, the story was really inventive and absorbing and the characters were surprisingly fresh and clever offshoots of the typical superhero convention.

I usually hate to see contemporary satirical fast-paced humor chock full of pop culture referances in modern animated features generally because the writers/directors seem unable for the most part to carry it out fluently and so it often seems forced and uninspired, not lending anything to the storyline or direction of the film.

Pixar is definitely the example.

They seem to be the only ones who can effectively discern between sharp and unique supporting elements that genuinely add to the overall entertainment of a film, and loud generic, untimely in-your-face gags that offer nothing other than distraction and discord and might pull a few laughs from some 6 year olds in the audience. The preview we saw for the escaped zoo animals with Chris Rock and a dancing urban loud-mouth hippopotamus voiced by Jada Pinkett further drove these perspectives...

Anyways, I had a really fun time watching this last night as expected, and all of the positive reviews were dead on. The "Bouncin" short was catchy and amusing too. I give it the Stashone seal of approval.

Well saving107, my theater had the trailer and you are correct on the assumption that it was shown first. Actually, I saw it at a Regal Cinemas theater(SECOND most evil film corp./leader, second only to einster), and they were advertising some godawful looking movie called Bigg's Adventure, a 'Regal only' film.

Friday estimates from boxofficemojo.com say that The Incredibles made $20.8 million yesterday, which would make it Pixar's strongest opening day performance.

Finding Nemo made $20.2 on its opening day (May 30 of last year) and it grossed $70 million for the weekend. Three years ago, Monsters, Inc. opened the same first weekend in November earned $17.8 million on its way to $62.5 M for the weekend and $255 M for its domestic run overall.

I think The Incredibles should have no problem topping $70 million by Sunday.

I saw it a second time last night, and I can now safely say that Edna is my favorite character. My second choice would be Elastigirl, who really made imaginative use of her powers.

I think the weekend might even go as high as $80 million... Shark Tale managed to increase 63.2% from friday to saturday and I think Incredibles will do the same. Lot of kids were still in school friday afternoon, so saturday is gonna be huge. This movie is gonna rock.

I saw it today.

It was, at moments, purely engaging (and creative), propelled forward with admirable purpose. Interestingly, though the most fantastical of the Pixar films, I thought it was also the most down-to-earth, the most relatable. The biggest attraction (for me) was the whole sci-fi, super-technology atmosphere, the action, the situations. The characters were interesting and well-defined. Good themes. The animation was very good, especially during the battle scenes (both on the island and back in the city). And the musical score was very stylish at points. I noticed it.

I give it three stars out of four. Solid. It had my mind, but ... not necessarily my heart, so ... and I'm not just saying that because I can't fully attach to computer animation. I just ... intellectually, it was intriguing. But I didn't feel too much, myself.

Took the "fam" to see it tonight and was "underwhelmed".

I don't know, it just seems like Pixar was really trying so hard to be something it's not with this film. I can't really explain it any better (or worse) than that, really. It just didn't feel like a Disney/Pixar movie.

Maybe in time it will grow on me. But first and foremost I went to see this for my daughter and she did not embrace this film like she did every other Pixar venture. That says a lot, IMO.

Well indiana, this really in a way isn't a Pixar film. All the others have been written by Pixar loyals, this was written by Brad Bird, who, IMO, writes better movies than Pixar.

What do you think they were trying to be?
I saw it as an attemp (a very succesful one) at breaking away from the ordinary.

Maybe your daughter too young and doesn't fully appreciate action, either her age or the fact that she is a girl could have an impact on her viewing experience.

Saw it last night and it was awsome!!! They had the married banter down to a tee. The end was great as well! Took my hubby who wasn't too keen on going, but he really liked it. Boundin was funny too, but we didn't get a star wars or a chicken little trailer.

I saw it last night and it was fantastic, I was completely surprised as I didn't really like the trailers... Pixar's best film IMO.

Weekend estimates are up and The Incredibles made 70.6 million, ahead of Nemo's 70.2. Hopefully actuals will look the same, I hope Incredibles manages to make over 300 million!

Looks like TI made just about $70 Million for the weekend. If the estimate holds up, it will be Pixar's highest opener ever. Now lets just hope the film has legs like Dash!

I just saw the movie last night and loved it. Although some people (on this site and also in other reviews I've read) have complained about the length, I would say that it could have been longer and I still would have been entertained every minute. I really hate ranking, and this is so much different from all the other Pixar films, so I can't really say that it surpasses any of the previous Pixar films (Toy Story still is and always will be my favorite), but it can definitely stand on its own as an awesome film.

Like I stated, I can't really explain it very well other than to say it just didn't feel very "Pixar-like" compared to their other movies to date. I had forgotten that it was not written and developed in-house and that certainly does explain a lot.

I did enjoy the film (as did my daughter) but just was not as in to the story or characters as I have been before. That being said, a 2.5/4 from me for Pixar is equiv. to about a 3.5/4 for most other films.

Well I would have to say that I was most impressed with "The Incredibles" I thought it was awesome from begining to end. I would agree that it deos not have the same Pixar/Disney flare to it, but just the same it was an awesome film. I think it is good that Pixar stepped out a little further with this film and did something a little different from their previous films. It just goes to show that they can do an awesome job with any formula. I would suggest this film to everyone and I can't wait to see it again!!!

I went to see it today and it was sold out!!! It was a 2:45 showing!! I was mad. This was the first Pixar movie since A Bug's Life that I was going to see in theatres. So I saw Shark Tale. I would give Shark Tale a 4/10.

I saw Shark Tale when it first came out - but I didn't pay for it. I've seen Incredibles twice now, and have given it a total of $14 of my hard-earned cash - $28 if you count the friends I went with. LOL

Promise I'll post some thoughts soon!

Just got back from my second viewing. The movie kicks arse, could be Pixar's best.
