I am a Christian, and I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. I believe the words of the Bible, and that God will save you through His grace if you ask Him to. Over the past year, I've had my share of struggles with my faith-times when I was bored with it, times when I thought of giving it up, and times when I didn't know what to do. But then in May someone came into my life who inspired me how to become both a better Christian, and a better person in general.
But the one thing I hate is people who get into very heated religious debates. There's nothing wrong with discussing why we believe what we believe, but I don't like it when it gets to the point of "bashing" eachother religions. When it gets like that with my friends or peers, I usually try to have the attitude of "you believe what you believe, and I believe what I believe, let's just leave it at that." If a person is strong enough in their faith, and is happy with their religion, and they don't want to be converted to another, I think it's best to respect their wishes and leave them alone. I don't like the Christians who go around saying "If you don't believe in God, you'll go to Hell". I think that's wrong-it turns people away from Christianity. I prefer to let people know that God loves you no matter what, and he will "...never, never leave you nor forsake you.".
I think those Christians who protested Gay Days at Disney World have gone too far with condemnation-I would never say "God doesn't like you because you're gay". The Bible says homosexuality is a sin, and I believe that, but I hate the sin, not the person. We're all sinners, no matter what, and it is not our place to judge others.
I also don't like people who say Harry Potter is evil. I don't think there's been a single person who has turned to the occult because of HP, and I think if it was going to happen, it would have happened by now. Most people in our church (a Christian Reformed Church) don't think Harry Potter is harmful at all. My grandmother didn't think it was bad, and if she didn't, it must not be. Those people who condemn HP and those who read it are probably the same people who let their kids read Wizard of Oz, Lord of the Rings, and all those fairy tales that have good and bad witches and fairies.
Well, that's my opinion. It out there for anyone to agree with or dispute. I welcome any dissent, although I may not respond to it (I'm here to discuss Disney, after all

!)
Hope you don't mind my opinion, and remember that's all it is-I don't want to get into any arguments

!
And as Ariel said: "In harmony, harmony... you're you, I'm me: together we can live in harmony."
We all need to learn to live together, oblivious to race, creed, religion, and sexuality. Part of being your own person is having your own beliefs.
