He is orange. Look at my avatar. And that is form an oficial Disney toy in Japan. He looks red because of the background but look at him when he's in the sky.
I'll search for more pictures and post them as I find them.
Well, on IMDB, on the
Return of Jafar page, Jonathan Freeman is listed as being the voice of Jafar, the
red genie. Plus, on the audio commentary with the directors on the Aladdin DVD, they are always talking about how
good blue (case and point, the good genie), while
evil, is represented by
red (case and point, the evil genie, ala Jafar).
Well, that is a wierd red color. Because honestly it looks orange. Compare a red character like Sebastian or Mushu with Genie Jafar and tell me if that is the same color. What I ended up thinking is that the color used for Jafar is red orange.
This is the red orange color:

Okay, I guess I can see how youre getting this. But he almost looked like a maroonish color in
Return of Jafar. just look at the booklet that came with the Aladdin DVD, on the last page of the comic book covering
Return of Jafar, he looks really dark red doesn't he? But then again, everything is off color in
Return of Jafar, namely, jafar's costume being almost completey red. As shown here

Oh please don't remind me him in The Return of Jafar (altough I'm going to buy the DVD) he looks like a joke. In his normal form he lost all his style. And the genie form is even worse. If you look at Aladdin or my avatar you'll see he looks almost like a devil. In RoJ he looks like a Looney Tunes cartoon.

I picked Royal vizier because that is the form in which he was given the most characterization, so it's the one I'm most familiar with. I do like the pointyness on the sorcerer outfit, but I like the main look best.
