Yeah. I loved this movie a lot. I must admit for many years I preferred the other Disney Renaisance hits (not saying I hated Aladdin), but on seeing it again last year, it may possibly be my favourite Disney movie!

Wow, fourth grade. That old? My wife and I saw Aladdin in the theatres 25 years *after* fourth grade.

Saw it four or five times that year, always loved it. It's a better film than Mermaid or Beauty.[/b]

I think I was in the third grade when it came out...so I guess I'm not as old as you, but still old if everyone else is young, lol!

I think I told this story before but...

Aladdin was the first movie we saw in theaters. I was in Kindergarten, so Escapay you were in 2nd grade, not 3rd. Anyhow we saw it probably 5 times and my mom bought us the vhs the day it came out and she surprised us when we came home from school. I also remember having an Aladdin coloring book and storybook and Aladdin sneakers!!!

I fell in love with the movie when my parents bought the original Black Diamond clamshell VHS for me, and I've loved it ever since. I've been eagerly awaiting the DVD release for quite some time now, and now I finally have it. 8)

Yeah, I think Evil Genie Jafar and I both have AFS(Aladdin Feeling Syndrome).

Or not. He seems more interested in Jafar.

Ha-ha, that's funny  . You're right but in order to love Jafar I have to love Aladdin as a whole.

I was just thinking about why I like so much the movie and I found out why. Beauty and the Beast was the first to came: a more Broadway, classical, and stylish movie. Then it was The Lion King: an exotic, strong, drama movie. Aladdin was the one in the middle and as such, it has the best of both worlds. And since it is the transition of these two movies that's the reason I believe most people forgot about it.

Heh, Aladdin was actually my first Disney VHS, and I remember literally watching it every day after getting home from school, so I definitely have nostalgic feelings for it. Rewatching it with its new digital transfer and widescreen presentation just makes me fall in love with the animation even more.

the widescreen is great for the genie musical number and lots of other scenes like flying through the cave. i've never seen the movie not in widescreen :D

everytime i think of it, that musical number music shows up inside the marmlade

I was! I remember how big of a deal it was to go to the theatre Thanksgiving weekend for the new Disney release, getting my lemon drops:). I remember watching all the little tidbits on Disney about it. It's a little spooky seeing some of them again. I went through a really difficult time in 9th grade (when the video came out) and it was just a happy spot. I had a bunch of pens too. Found them in the garage not too long ago.
