Yes, it appears so... I live in Australia and most of our Amazon orders come from Amazon in Hong Kong... They have not received stock yet from the US fulfillment centers... It looks like they are not going to receive until the official release date and thus here in Australia, we wont receive the DVD's until 7 days or so after the release. It looks like Amazon in Europe is having the same problem and have not as yet received the Collectors edition stock from the US.
I'm not sure I got this straight....
You mean you, in Australia, got your Amazon.com orders shipped from Hong Kong ?! Didn't know that, thougt all the orders departured from the US. Don't undersand for Europe as well.... I mean I live in france and all my Amazon.com orders were always shipped from the US, not from anywhere else...
And I'm sure all the other orders ship from the US to anywere of the world. That's why the have their intenrational shipping prices. If the amazon.com orders from Europe where shipped from let's say London, there's no way it's so expensive to go to let's say Paris. And another thing : as DVDs are encoded they're not supposed to go overseas, so that'd be weird.... Plus amazon has international websites for intertional orders. I mean, all that doesn't make any sense.
So basicaly, I don't believe in what you said.

Amazon does not have offices in Australia, so the DVD's are shipped from the US to Hong Kong and then sent out to various cities in Asia and Australia.
My Amazon R1 DVD packages are post marked "Hong Kong", so that is defintely where they come from. I have also received some other R1 releases (Vault Disney Parent Trap & Vault Disney Pollyanna) from Amazon post marked "Germany". I assume that Amazon must ship their DVDs internally within Europe from Germany after they have received their stock from the US ??.. What city in the US are your Disney R1 DVD's shipped from ?..
The DVD's may also be encoded, but you can play them anywhere in the World if you have a region free player and Amazon don't seem to have an issue with sending out R1 DVD's to non region 1 countries. The email I received from Amazon said they had not received their Aladdin Collectors DVD's from the US distribution centers.

Well, my hasn't; even tough I didn't order it trough UD. I placed my order Sept. 12 and they haven't sent it!!!
More reasons for me to get the extra copy I was thinking on Tuesday.
PS
Besides, I wouldn't be able to face the fact that my favorite movie is already out, seeing it in stores and knowing I'd have to wait more days.

I send an emai lto Amazon and there's the answer :
Greetings from Amazon.com.
I've checked your order, and I can confirm that we still expect to ship it by the date listed in Your Account: October 05, 2004.
The estimated date of shipment was calculated at the time you placed your order and is based on the proximity of inventory to the delivery address you provided, as well as how quickly we can obtain and assemble items for shipment.
We will send you an e-mail at the time of shipment. Please contact us again by using the following URL if you do not receive a shipment confirmation by October 06, 2004...

The only thing I'm not contesting in what you said is that Amazon US send from the US to one of their offices near where you live.
But this doesn't cause any problem to the shipping. Their offices worldwilde aren't the ones which send, they just receive the package from the US and transfer it to you but nothing more.

I don't think it's even that. I think its just the route Worldmail uses. In the UK all seem to come from America, mostly stamped Jamaica Bay (which I understand is near New York), but not exclusively.

That's your problem! Amazon takes care of people who order through UD links first!

I ordered through UD on September 29th and not shipped either.
How can you, member of the amazon partnership, see if it is shipped ?
I have a partnership with amazon.fr through my website and I don't think I can see whether the orders are shipped or not.

They don't show up as Earnings until they ship. Once you see a price associated with it, it's shipped.
There's only been a few gift sets shipped out, and more people ordered those than the regular DVD. So I'm hoping and thinking that the bulk will ship out today and tomorrow. That's pretty much par for the course on any Amazon order, but usually more trickle out a week ahead when International customers have done preorders.

I personnally think it's the Aladdin Gift Set is more beautiful than The Lion King's (that I own though

). And inside the DVD case itself, you'll have a great insert in the R1 versus nothing in R2

I don't see details of anyone who places orders through the site. All I see is a quantity ordered and when it ships, the amount it was purchased for.
Furthermore, if you ordered with Share the Love, you probably didn't go through a site's link, so that wouldn't even show up.
Reordering recently might have you pushed you down the queue a bit. People were ordering this back in February. I wouldn't worry, though. Is your order listed as "Shipping soon"?

I ordered mine saturday morning (Oct 2nd) and it shipped the very same day!!! (not even 24 hrs after)
I ordered though UD. But still I thnik they keep track of the many things I've bought from them.
Too bad I know it'll arrive until next week because I didn't wanted to pay $24 for the fastest shipment!!!
