I am the webmaster of the Disney Shorts site in question. I don't usually have the time to visit this board but I was pointed to this discussion by a mutual friend. To wit; I did contact Mr. Beals and ask him to use his images and when he refused I did respect that. Quite a bit later another anonymous contributor to the site sent me a zip file of scans of Japanese laserdiscs. At that time I had no way of knowing where they came from but I assumed they were from a different source since while Mr. Beals for the most part shows both front and back covers, these were only of the front covers. So I did use them; it was only after the fact that I found out the he (supposedly) has the only scans of these in existance. Once he told me I did put a credit to his site on mine. The only reason I used the word "most" was because I was unsure of which ones were his and which might have come from a different source, but I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

As far as updating the site, to be honest I just don't have the time to be as obsessive about it as some people claim I am. I don't have a cadre of elves working for me; I do all the work on the site alone. And it's all done manually in straight HTML; there are no automatic functions. It may seem a bit 19th century but it's the way I prefer to do things. But I also have a life as well. I work about 60 hours a week at a real job, I'm divorced with three kids, two of whom are autistic and I do have a girlfriend who likes to see me every once in a while. So bear with me. I don't pretend to be the first on the web with any of the information I provide, but I do get things posted as time permits.

I'd just like to say on behalf of all the people who visit and use your site, all your hard word is greatly appreciated. It is an invaluable resource, and has provided me with countless hours of enjoyment.

I have seen that 1946 "The Story Of Menstruation" and consider it well done. I do not consider it "funny" or "strange" that Disney did this short. Over the years the Disney Company has presented numerous educational films with health subjects.

By the way, the animation in this short is nice, 1940s type, animation. The subject is presented in a tasteful manner with emphasis on menstruation as a natural part of a female's life.

As many Disney fans know, this short was sponsored by the makers of feminine hygiene products.
