I started with the tins, so I guess I will keep buying the ones with the tins. However, if I did't already have some with the tins, I wouldn't bother buying tins.

I bought the Treasures with the tins because I bought each Wave as it came out. But I didn't care for the tins. I'm interested in the contents, not the fancy packaging. The tins added weight to the sets and tended to cause the DVD sets to fall over when I would pull one from my shelves. I also like seeing the different color spines and titles of the inside cases. I like having the titles in alphabetical order (within the overall title of Walt Disney Treasures), so I can find the one I want to watch quickly. I gave my tins away to someone who had bought the Costco set but wanted tins. I just recycled the Wave 3 tins.

The Treasures are first released with tins - therefore I buy them with tins. Since the tins are part of the original packaging - and quite nice - I'm keeping them. But my decision to buy the Treasures has nothing to do with tins...

where did you find such a steal? I don't care if a mickey in living color is used as long as everything if working. I'm beginning to wonder if I will ever find it at a decent price!

I was fortunate enough to find MMILC about 10 minutes after it had been listed, with a BuyItNow of $25. I figured I'd get a sealed version without the tin eventually for the same price (ignoring sellers claiming the tinless version is even more collectible???), but getting the tin was a nice bonus. I wouldn't have paid more than $40 or so for any version, considering the rumors on here that the Treasures could be re-released in the near future for $20 - $25.

Well, what a steal! Wish I could come across a deal like that. Instead, I keep seeing auctions for up to $110! Yeah, right! Have you received them yet? Hope they are in perfect condition!

I recently bought MMILC for 50 bucks, with tin and all in perfect condition.

The MMILC Vol. 1 tin had a dent on one edge, otherwise used but decent shape. Complete Goofy looked pretty good - signs of wear on the tin (a few light scratches). Both had some signs of wear on the DVD case. But all inserts were included, and are in good shape. I'd be upset if I paid premium $$$ for "mint" condition, but for the price I'm happy.

I know collectors want to have the tins because they look great, but I just take the cases out of the tins, and the tins have been sitting in my closet ever since.
