i don't expect this opinion to be shared by most members, but I am more excited about 2006 (little mermaid and jungle book) than 2005 (bambi and cinderella).

You're not the only one swray1024, I am looking forward to 2006 more. But it's so long untill then! Ah well, the bambi and cinderella dvds will be added to my collection but they're not in my "must-get" list... So I'll probably get them a few days later than the release date.

I know a lot of people here are disappointed with Cinderella and Bambi coming out before other favorites. However, I am ecstatic over this because I personally am a little sick of Disney milking all of my money out with multiple releases of the same movie. There are already multiple versions out of a number of titles and I just want the complete collection. Then I will worry about all of the newest versions and when to get them and sell my older ones.

wasn't Jungle book on DVD a few years ago?

so all we're missing now is Cinderellla and Bambi on DVD right? and wasn't The Rescuers on DVD also ? or were all those copies recalled of that "certain" scene?

But those were out on limited editions which very few people got and have no extras. (though I do have Lady and the Tramp)

I am sure you can tell that I am excited over the news! The only thing that gets me down is that so many people are complaining about TLM not being released first. Yes, I would like it to come out soon on platinum dvd soon like most of you, but why would it make sense to re-release TLM and leave Cinderella in the dust? Cinderella hasn't had a chance to debut on DVD yet, TLM has. I know that some of you are talking about the torture that you'll have to wait for one more year but really its not that bad. I've had to wait many more years for Cinderella to even be scheduled for its first release.
I know that some of you are upset but please don't ruin the happiness for those who are excited about Cinderellas' release. Just be happy that Disney has decided to speed up the release schedule and know that with 99% chance you'll have your TLM in 2006.

Well put!
The only 3 platinums I'm interested in after Aladdin makes it's debut, are: Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, and Lady and the Tramp...
I wish all 3 were coming out next year. Oh well, I'll have them all soon I guess (If you can call 3 years soon!)

in response to starlioness, you are correct Cinderella and Bambi are the only two titles that have not been released on DVD to-date.
in response to Ludwig Von Drake, Lady and The Tramp has had two releases to my knowledge. This was included in the animated anthology as a limited addition with no extra features and was also released as a gold collection (still with limited features though).
I am glad that other people are excited to see Cinderella and Bambi coming out. I have them both on VHS, but I am excited to see what additions they will add to these two classics and how they are handled.

True Aladdin, Bambi and Cinderella are coming to DVD for the first time.
I'm glad that The Little Mermaid, The Jungle Book, 101 Dalmatians, Lady and the Tramp and Pinocchio are coming to DVD again since the Limited Issue was so horrilbe.
Lucky I never bought the Limited Issue DVDs.

As far as I know "The Lady and the Tramp" was just available in the "Limited Issue" (and those 9 LE titles were included in the animated anthology, but it was the very same release). A year after those releases, the Platinum Line was announced.
So after the Lady and the Tramp went OOP, it never got issued under the Gold Classic Collection.

Lady and the Tramp was never a Gold Collection.
It was only a Limited Issue that's why Lady and the Tramp is going to be Platium DVD.

I'm
not intending this to be mean, so please don't think it is, but this is a forum, so shouldn't we all be allowed to speak our minds on the discussion? Also, I wasn't trying to "ruin the happiness" for the people who are happy Cinderella's coming first, in fact, like I said before, I love Cinderella! I am happy it will be receiving a wonderful platinum debut! All I meant was that I am antious for my favorite movie to recieve it's platinum, and I'm sure that's all anyone else meant too. Many websites and people were beleving that Little Mermaid would be the October 05 platinum for quite some time, so it was somewhat a shock (for me at least) when they confirmed it was Cinderella. I don't think anyone intended their comments that they posted to be cruel to anyone. It all makes sense that they are releasing the one's that haven't been released first, and I am fine with that.

The only thing that has me somewhat worried (like I said before) is that I hope by 2006, Disney Store will still have a pre-order offer with the lithos, plush, and pin for our little mermaid's platinum.
Oh and Cinderelly, I'm truly sorry if you thought that ANYTHING I typed (now or before) is/was mean.

I never intend anything to be mean to anyone.
Ariel does't mind hanging out on the beach for one more year

I still think they should speed this up. Three a year would be easily handled by the masses, that's still four months in between releases.

Wow.. I was so waiting for The Little Mermaid as it's been so long I have seen it. Well Cinderella is great too and if The Little Mermaid comes 2006 I think I can wait.
