Where do you click on the site for the free video?

Look for the vacation planning kit request.
Maerj, that list is awesome. I have 2 of those, and wish I had gotten all the other free ones. I will definitely get the 2 currently available ones, though I hate to shell out money for just "Where Magic Lives," without the Walt Disney Story.
Is the K*B Toys thing really worth the money?

New Animal Kingdom DVD out at WDW

I just returned from a 7 day trip to WDW (it was GREAT!) and found a new Animal Kingdom DVD. It is similar to the Magic Kingdom DVD released at WDW a few months ago. It is coded Region 0, 5.1 surround sound, widescreen, chapters, outtakes, ride on Kilimanjaro Safari, Making of Disney's Animal Kingdom, animal and park details. No listing on time. It is 19.95 and can be ordered from WDW merchandising at 407-363-6200. The cover is very nice, with the Tree of Life and the Fab Five. I have not had a chance to watch it yet-I just wanted to post that it is now available. According to the shop where I purchased it, it just came out last week.

thanks for the news wdwleesa! My brother will be going to WDW in January and I'll tell him to pick one up! I don't have any of the other WDW DVDs, but I would love to own them. Do you have any of the other titles? Are they any good? The features on the AK sound great!

They were sold out of the MK on DVD when I was there last. I will probably end up buying them both when I'm down there this month, though. When you watch the new AK DVD, can you post your thoughts? $20 is a lot, so hopefully it's worth it (same for the MK DVD).
Supposedly DVDs for MGM and Epcot are on the way. I'm a tad surprised that AK got picked first over those, but maybe it's to try to hype the park up a bit. I'm also glad to see it came out so soon, I wasn't expecting it until next year.
Thanks for posting!

It was probably first because there was a VHS of the Animal Kingdom released years ago, making it easier to make the DVD rather than starting from scratch like they'll have to with the other two parks.

Darn. I was there for 4 days in early November on a Florida resident parkhopper pass & must've missed it by just a couple weeks. Didn't see the MK one there either. I'll have to pick both up by phone one of these days. They sound great.

Kram-
I remember only three other park DVD's. They were the one on the Magic Kingdom, one on Christmas in WDW, and one titled Where Magic Lives. I have the others but, alas, have not watched them. I am an avid collector but don't seem to get around to watching what I buy! The Christmas one is the same one they had last year and Where Magic Lives has been out for at least a year as well. I think the Magic Kingdom one is the superior one of the three, at least that is what I have been told. I would hope and assume that the one on Animal Kingdom would be good as well.
I asked around about new ones coming on MGM and Epcot but no one seemed to know.

Last I heard, the ones on MGM and Epcot are coming. Are there any special features on the Christmas at WDW DVD? I've seen the actual footage and am not sure if the DVD is worth the buy.

First: I'm not selling this - just passing the word.
A new park DVD devoted to Animal Kingdom has been released in the parks and through Disney mail order. What do you think?

The Epcot DVD is now available, according to
www.mouseplanet.com!!!
I'm quite upset with myself. I went to Disney World three times in 2004 and ever once picked up any of these DVDs. The first two times I couldn't find them, though. The third time, I didn't have the money. I still really don't have the money, but with three out already, I really want to at least get the first one. But $28 to order it through the mail is a lot. Hmmm... I still have a park hopper day left over, maybe I'll have to make a little 10 hour trip later this year.
Also, Walt Disney World has a new 2-Disc (1 CD-Rom, 1 DVD) vacation planning kit available for free from their website. This is the newest one they've put out; it's in conjuction with the Happiest Celebration on Earth.

That DVD is also sold (along with other park merchandise) in a new UD store that's very much still in-development, in association with Main Street Megastore:

It looks like it's a bit more here.

Ohhh very cool, Luke! Can't wait to see the store when it's all wrapped up. Awesome idea!
I wish the MK cover matched the other two.

Shipping costs

FWIW, Disney typically charges shipping fees based on purchase prices. At least that is how shipping from the parks/hotels worked last time I was there (dec 03). The $8.95 shipping charge was the minimum as i recall. I ordered all 3 park videos for $10.95 shipping ($70.90 total). Still not great, but a little easier to digest

On the bright side, there was no tax to ship to California, and even at $28.90 for one, it's cheaper than the going prices on eBay.
Dave
T minus 3 days till Anaheim!
BTW -- Can anyone confirm either way whether the widescreen versions of the park videos are anamorphically encoded for 16x9 televisions?

If you buy something at walt disney world, it is the same price for shipping no matter what you buy. As long as you buy it in the same store, you can send the whole lot of whatever you purchase home for the same price, I think it is 8.95, but it may have gone up a dollar or two. It is a good strategy to buy all your purchases at one store and send them home, because if you live outside of Florida you will not have to pay taxes if you have it shipped, so if you are buying a lot shipping can basically be free. I have lot of the monorail toys - one trip we sent home all three resorts and the castle and some of the attractions for 8.95. Another trip we sent home the train station and train set plus other stuff for 8.95. We usually just have everything sent home this way.
We bought the magic kingdom video last Oct. and it didn't work well. I think the rear and front audio tracks were reversed, because the background music was overwhelming and you couldn't hear any of the dialogue. I took it back last Jan. and traded it for another one that works just fine, so if you are having trouble with one you might want to exchange it on your next trip.

Hello everyone,
I wanted to know, who has the Magic Kingdom and Epcot dvds and are they worth the price. From the previous post, I could really get a good idea of whether or not to get them.

Escapay brought the MK one home when he visited in March of APril I forget and, well...for any visitor to MK, it's a very nice way to remember the Magic Kingdom. For a true Disney theme park fan, like me, it was somewhat of a disappointment. Maybe I'm just being nitpicky, but I thought the DVD producers could've done a better job.
Some bad things:
1. Video Quality - my goodness, the footage was great but the video quality kept chaning.
2. MK Footage - yes I said it was great, but sometimes it was confusing. I remember seeing parts of DL Paris's Peter Pan's Flight because it had the 4 person ships
3. Music - for crying out loud, this is produced by Disney so DIsney music should be used (some was used, but not all the time)
4. Extras - they added a huge frame on some of the bonus footage segments...you can't fast forward through the carriage ride through Main St.
Some good things:
1. Extras - they included some old footage from old Disneyland episodes and a part of the thing about EPCOT
2. They had the characters play in the park, it was very cute.
3. They taped when the park was not very crowded and the sunshine was golden
4. They did their best to put DIsney characters with their attractions
5. Donald's Tomorrowland costume
I know there's more things, but I can't think of them now.
