 Aw hell, I thought it was real, but was wondering why the article was called "Eisner Sucks". That should have been a direct giveaway, not the "you fell for that" at the end, lol!

I thought this was a real news release. I was scared because I thougth Disney was really going to discontinue all the platinum DVDs for two years.

Nice joke / prank. :)

When I click the link, I go to http://www.angelfire.com/ab7/vader/index.html , not http://movies.yahoo.com. What's going on :? Also, the Yahoo page says that SnackPack is logged in, but my username isn't SnackPack

I didn't read this article or anything, but this thread DID give me an idea on how to make our collections look more...even?

They should issue cardboard slipcovers for all of the Animated Classics that match the ones they did for Alice in Wonderland SE, Beauty and the Beast, etc. With one for each film, it should make your collections look more uniform. Just a suggestion.

Memo to me: Never skim web pages again but read website's titles and text word for word. :p I didn't pay attention to the url, the Eisner sucks title, and I didn't even see the "You fell for it" at the end. I just read the article itself then wondered if this was canon, and when I noticed the Hellboy announcement (I didn't even notice Billy Madison, either), I figured this must be reliable. I sure would suck at being a detective. Worst. Joke. Ever. :p

Well, Jack, it seems as though you're up to the same level of Pals when it comes to being the jokester of ultimatediseny.com

Kudos to you!

lol- I can say now that it's humorous, but you did get me for a few seconds (and I was mad :x). But did no one notice the UltimateDisney.com banner at the top-right of the article? I know this is a popular site, but I haven't seen that on most Yahoo! Movies articles that I've read .

Me neither... I only noticed all those things AFTER I read everyone else say it was a fake. I just skimmed it. The "Virtual Tea Party Fiasco" did throw me off a bit, though .

I played a very similar prank on my friends earlier this year. I made a replica of the Daily Tar Heel (campus newspaper- I was a staff writer at the time) website and made a fake article about Dean Smith and Michael Jordan coming to speak at UNC... believable at the start, but becoming increasingly ridiculous as the story went on. I knew they'd only skim, so they got all excited and told all kinds of people and made plans to skip class, only to later actually read it from some detail and realize it was a fake! They were so mad that they didn't talk to me for a week, hahahaha.

Good idea, but highly doubtful they would do it... :(

I've read this article before. It is funny though. Don't see why Eisner or anyone else at Disney would want to discontinue the platnium editions. The only way Eisner WOULD want to discoutinue the platnium editions would be if he listens to the voices in his head or he hits himself in the head with a lead pipe or something.
