In a similar topic... Why Disney released different versions of the same movie in Europe? Like how Aladdin, Peter Pan and 101 Dalmatians aren´t Diamond Editions.
On that note I don´t understand for sure why (at least in Spain) the new released movies on BD didn´t get a new DVD. For instance, I remember I gave as a gift Pocahontas to someone and the video quality was awful on it. So I don´t know if Disney is just keeping the original release on the shelves or they put on new ones but being the original release.
And they NEEDED a new release. I´m not talking just Extras. Even with BD we know this is department is lacking. I´m saying that if the movie has a bad video transfer originally and they put on a new BD why not take out the old DVDs and make new ones (even if they have the same packaging) or at least put on sale new ones while the originals are still sold.
I don´t know if later a new DVD got sold with a new transfer but at least back then that happened.
