Another indie film is vying for consideration.
Living Large is nominated for two European Film Awards, and has also qualified for Oscar consideration in the animated feature film category this year.

I've heard good things about Flow but I don't have any way to watch it.
So far I've seen:
- Inside Out 2
- The Wild Robot
- The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie
- Spellbound
- Moana 2
I plan to watch The War of the Rohirrim next month. It doesn't look promising.

Only seen 3 of those five movies, with plans in motion to see TDTEBU and TLOTR:TWOTR, but not Spellbound (since Lasseter will get no eyes on him from me anymore).

War of the Rohirrim is okay, I think LotR fans will like it. The animation is not so good, but you might get used to it eventually.
My ranking of the films released in 2024 that I've seen so far:
1. The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie
2. War of the Rohirrim
3. Inside Out 2
4. The Wild Robot
5. Moana 2
6. Spellbound

In this case, I’m rooting for that Looney Tunes movie to win Best Animated Feature.
BTW, I expected 5 and 6 to be as they were. But what is it about Moana 2 that made you put it above Spellbound?

I wrote a whole thing about it and then I thought it would be more appropriate to write it in the Moana 2 thread so long story short, I didn't hate either film, but found both to be subpar, but I guess I still find the characters in Moana 2 likeable enough to put the movie above Spellbound.
Spellbound deals with something many children go through and maybe it would have resonated with me if I had watched it when I was younger, but thinking about the film more, until they arrive to the climax, they go through a journey (or a road trip as some like to call it) that isn't really interesting and we don't really get any substantial reason to why
the parents split up other than a mild argument that didn't seem that bad. I liked the song The Way It Was Before, but the rest of the music wasn't that memorable to me.

Flow is winning a lot of awards. It's a stronger contender than I thought. Probably, it's a lock for the Oscar nomination along with
Inside Out 2 and
The Wild Robot. It's also competing in the international film category, but it might be more difficult for it to get in there.

I'm not a big Looney Tunes fan, but now I'm curious about the movie since you ranked it so high. It's interesting that both it and the new Wallace & Gromit film are competing for this year's awards, but don't have their wide release until next year.

I'm surprised
Orion and the Dark wasn't submitted since it's a Dreamworks movie and had good reviews.

It was well written and very funny, with the type of visual humor that animated movies used to have. I hope you enjoy it too.
By the way, I've seen Flow and this is my new ranking:
1. The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie
2. Flow
3. War of the Rohirrim
4. Inside Out 2
5. The Wild Robot
6. Moana 2
7. Spellbound

Six nominees are too many. There should always be just five.

Am I the only one who thinks The Wild Robot is overrated??
I am fond of Lilo and Stitch, but Chris Sanders' DreamWorks films just don't do anything for me. Neither The Wild Robot nor How to Train Your Dragon and definitely not The Croods.
