Why do they release widescreen films outside of the US when they are fullscreen here? It doesn't make sense to me that an AMERICAN company can't get it right in their home country but can release decently outside. Oh, it makes me

It's because many countryes have smart citisens and they know that widescreen are the best.
America has a lot of idiots (sorry, but it is true) and they always complain every time the get a widescreen DVD: "oh the DVD has broken my TV, now there are black bars on it", "The DVD does not work properly, there are a lot of black in the picture", "I don't want it in widescreen, I want to see it in my whole TV"
The problem is that the studios must make money, and when people are that stupid they have to do what they tell them to if not they will lose a lot of it sadly.
Luckily the good fight in educating the american people has come a long way. Even good old Block Busters are now stocking more of it.

I'm sorry, but that response was rather a stereotypical European response, and in defense of Americans, a LOT do want widescreen. Just because some do and some don't doesn't mean we have a lot of idiots. The same could easily be said about any country in any place.

As an American living in America and interacting with many, many other Americans on a daily basis, I agree with Captain Hook.

Thank you. And I agree with Disney Guru, I loved that film as well, and my parents have the Anchor Bay VHS.
