Per a new report by The Wrap, the three most likely candidates to succeed Iger are Kevin Mayer, Peter Rice, and Bob Chapek. None of these options look good to me. The worst candidate is Kevin Mayer who seems like a total douche.

What’s wrong with Bob Chapek again?

Peter Rice would be my pick. I'm sure some will balk at him coming from the Fox side and not being fully ingrained in the Disney culture yet, but neither were Frank Wells and Michael Eisner when they were made the heads of the company and they still managed to make Disney enormously successful in the '80s and '90s.
Based on his experiences at Fox and his knowledge of the creative side, he seems like the most fitting choice to run Disney once Bob Iger eventually leaves. And as an advocate for 20th Century Fox to remain as is, I have an additional reason to support his promotion.

I don't follow Disney's internal politics and don't know the least about any of these people. Disney will choose who they choose, and after that their own actions will end up showing what they are. If Peter Rice is from FOX as estefan says though, I really hope they don't go with him.

I don't see what's wrong with Peter Rice getting the job. And after reading up more about him, I think he's the right fit.
When I think of somebody who should run Disney, it should be a person who can maintain a good relationship with creative people and let them do their best work possible. Rice fits the bill as he worked closely with a lot of filmmakers at 20th Century Fox, including when he was president of Fox Searchlight Pictures. He also understands the business side of how to run a company, fulfilling the other necessary part.
Him being new to Disney shouldn't matter (again, I bring up Frank Wells) and by the time Iger potentially leaves, Rice will have already been there for two years. And assuming he is next in line, I imagine Iger is already prepping him and showing him how the whole operation works.

Anyone the Murdochs had chosen to be in power at FOX prior to Disney’s purchase is not someone I trust, much less to control the direction of the entire company.

I'm leaning towards Bob Chapek. He's the safest option and the most harmless of the three.

Despite the fact that his management style is "raise the prices and cut the budget"?

I'd also rather the person running Disney come from the movie and television side rather than the "consumer products" side. Chapek did handle distribution for Walt Disney Studios and also worked in the home entertainment division, so he does have experience there. But just going on past credentials, Peter Rice just seems more fitting. I view Disney as a movie and television entertainment company first, hence my preference for Rice over the other two.

I knew several of the things that had happened to Disney the past few years had to do with Iger's presidential aspirations. The GOP had the bull's-eye on Disney for that reason.
