So which of these more accurately represents the colors from the 25th Anniversary showing?

I'm sorry for the multiple posts.

Frankly, neither of them are accurate compared to the original print (I was at the 25th anniversary event).

I would say if you tinker with the brightness and contrast, and mildly with hue/saturation, the 3D blu ray comes closest... except the ballroom scene. I don't think either of them come close to the original print.

Actually, I take that last part back. The 3D can come close with tinkering on the ballroom scene too...

You can delete your extra posts by clicking Image, located in the bottom right hand corner of your post. It is only displayed on the last post in a thread/discussion, so if someone else makes a post it will not be available. As far as I know this option is available to everyone.

To avoid double posts, do not hit submit a second time. If it's taking longer to appear or it pops up with a error screen, just open a new tab or window and go to the page to see if your post is there. This is the main reason for multiple posts appearing.

Hope this helps and have a good day!

PS: I originally sent this as a PM, but have since deleted it, so you may not receive that message.

From The Blu-Ray forum:

"Well, from what Don Hahn said in interviews, the 2D Blu-ray represents the way the film was meant to be seen. There was a problem when the movie was transferred from CAPS to film in 1991 which resulted in an extra dark color scheme in theaters, on VHS, and on LD. Of course, since we all grew up with that initial home video release, people assume that's the way it was meant to look (though those who argue that release represents the theatrical experience are technically correct). But Hahn has said the 2D BD is what they actually saw on the CAPS system monitors when producing the film, and the 3D BD was simply tweaked to accommodate tinted 3D glasses."

I've been listening to the soundtrack this past week (the live action trailer inspired me); and it irks me that the track 'Beauty and the Beast' comes after 'Mob Song' ..... Why is this ? Makes zero sense and really irritates ! If anyone knows why, then please do share !

You're not the only one! I was hoping they would fix it with the Legacy edition soundtrack, but that line seemed to have ended.
My not spending money on extravagant packaging and new art would have brought down costs. Who knows.

... So the 2D blu-ray had the accurate colors this whole time? :?

Well, I;m not sure I buy what Don Hahn said... didn't they say something similar when the Platinum Edition dvd came out? And that one looks very different than the Diamond Edition blu ray...
I kinda assume they say that every time they re-release the film to sell more...

And here is the other thing: every screen varies from the next. What I see on my computer isn't going to look the same as what I;ll see on a TV, or the TV next to that one. Go to Best Buy and look at the wall where they have all the TVs on display. The images vary from screen to screen!

Oh... I'm such an idiot.

For those who want to know what the colors looked like at the screening of the 25th anniversary reunion.... there is a way for you to sort-of see it: if you pop in your blu ray (NOT EITHER OF THE DVD EDITIONS), and select the picture-in-picture WIP version of the film... THAT'S very close to it (the parts that are in color). The 25th anniversary screening was a little bit lighter, which you can accomplish adjusting your TV set.... and the color parts of the WIP have a blue tint... in the print at the event, it was more of a yellow-ish tint (I have mentioned before how the flesh tones looked a bit yellow-y).

I, again, don't think those colors are what the filmmakers intended. Then again, I'm not sure the blu rays' are either...

Thanks for the links, Sotiris! But I can’t watch the video of the full panel. Has it been taken down?

I'm afraid so. Comic-Con International forced them to take it down.

This year, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast—the first animated film ever to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture—celebrates its 25th anniversary, and Disney twenty-three is giving fans a spectacular look at the film from its inception to its timeless legacy. The issue features interviews with Paige O’Hara (Belle), Robby Benson (Beast), Angela Lansbury (Mrs. Potts), David Ogden Stiers (Cogsworth), Richard White (Gaston), composer Alan Menken, screenwriter Linda Woolverton, producer Don Hahn, and many more, as well as stories about how the film has been equally successful in Disney theme parks and on stage. Plus, readers will learn more about the live-action adaptation of the film, coming to theaters in 2017.

The celebration of Beauty and the Beast’s 25th anniversary continues on September 5, when D23 Members—and Disney fans—are invited to join the festivities as the club kicks off its annual Fanniversary event. D23 will be holding member screenings of the groundbreaking film around the country, Gold Members will receive special “selfie kits” with the fall publication, and D23.com will offer fans exclusive features, new videos, printables, recipes, and much more. Fans are invited to “be our guest” for this 25-day event.

Disney twenty-three is offered exclusively to D23 Gold and Gold Family Members as a benefit of their membership. The latest issue will begin arriving in late August.

Hey everyone, I need your help. Is there anyone here who received the Disney twenty three magazine? I looked on Disney Store to see if they can ship it to Romania, but unfortunately, they can't. I found an intermediary who can get it for me, but they need the barcode to find it. Can anyone PM me the barcode?

I don't think it has a barcode. I searched for the magazine on ebay and there isn't a bar code in the front or in the back. Also, I found an unboxing video and there doesn't seem to be one inside the mag either.

Why can't you get it on ebay or from other third-party sellers? They usually ship to Europe.
