Wonderfalls gets cancel on Fox! Let's hope that a other network or DVD will pick up the series.

I not a fan of the show but, they destroyed the show by putting it on Friday and Thursday the worst night for any network.

"Wonderfalls" has been canceled. You can read my other post about it here:
It is official. "Wonderfalls" is cancelled. Producer Tim Miner (of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" fame) said that he is going to attempt to get the whole series played on another network, most likely a cable channel, and is also begging Fox to give it a DVD treatment. I hope he uses the live action "The Tick" as an example at his pitch. "The Tick" had a similar run to "Wonderfalls." Less than half of it's episodes where aired when Fox decided that the Neilsen ratings werent high enough. What they didn't realize was that the live action version had a huge fan base, just not many with a Neilsen Box. "The Tick" was produced by Sony and after being flooded with leters to get a DVD release, they agreed to it and where surprised to find that it sold extremely well. I hope Fox realizes this and releases "Wonderfalls." Anyway, I know that not many people here are fans, but if you are, there is a petition you can sign (

and you can vote for it on

goofystitch wrote:I love "Wonderfalls." It's clevar and smart and you people who find it boring and not entertaining should stick to your dumbed down shows. I reccomend to you "Playing It Straight," the new offensive reality series where a girl is trying to weed out the homosexuals amongst a group of men supposedly vying for her heart, and I think you people might also like "Cracking Up," the show by the "creators" of "School of Rock" with it's cheap gags and terrible plot and characters. To those of us who like smart shows, like "Arrested Development" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Wonderfalls" is awsome, and if you don't like it, don't watch it and don't bash it. Anyway, the real reason for this post is to infrom all of the fans that the show has now been moved to Thursdays, which will make or break the show. I have never seen "Tru Calling," nor do I know anything about the kind of ratings it receives, but in my experience, new shows on any network other than NBC don't usually do well on primetime Thursday night. I sure hope we see an increase in ratings, but the future looks doubtful. But maybe a DVD release is possible if all 13 episodes aren't aired. I think that if fans can get "Dinotopia: The Series" and "Celebrity Mole: Hawaii," which didn't have good ratings, it is probable that shows like "Wonderfalls" and "Arrested Development" could receive DVD treatments as well.
I would like to end this post by saying that I probably offended somebody and I am sorry, but I was offended by some of the other comments left about this show and if you don't like it, live and let live. The universe dosen't revolve around you, nor me. But at least I have respect for other peoples tastes and would never go onto a forum and bash something you care about.
Where do I begin? Your little disclaimer at the end apologizing for "probably" offending some others just doesn't cut it.
"You people who find it boring & not entertaining should just stick to your dumbed down shows". HOW dare you? Who appointed you TV God? I have watched one episode of one reality show in my life (the last episode of Survivors first season out of curiosity) & don't care for them. When cameras are rolling no tv show is "truly" reality anyway. But I digress. I happen to watch CSI's, ER, Law & Order(s), NYPD Blue, District, Hack, Without A Trace, Joan of Arcadia, The Practice, Frasier etc... Get the picture. Name a "Dumbed down show on that list".
"To those of us who like smart shows". What makes the list of shows you listed "the smart ones"?
Then to list a group of shows you think would appeal to us dumb hicks who don't share your taste (& by the ratings it's a small bunch. You could hold a Wonderfalls fan club meeting in a phone booth) is extremely offensive.
You show your out of touch with reality by claiming that new shows on any network other than NBC on Thursday night don't do well. Apparently you didn't get the memo. Must see tv on NBC on Thursday is dead. Friends is gone in 6 weeks & ER doesn't have a lot of life left in it. CBS with Survivor, CSI & Without A Trace OWNS Thursday night.
I'm sorry but you really struck a nerve with this post which I hadn't read until tonight. I would say it makes me glad Wonderfalls got canned but I don't try to gloat about a show someone else likes getting the boot. I was disappointed in Freaks & Geeks getting canned a few years back & now it is getting 2 dvd releases:a 6 disc sold in stores & an 8 disc sold only over the web which I'll be getting this week to enjoy. Early reviews say it is the best dvd (content & packaging) ever released so maybe you have hope. I just hope in the future you don't post as if you are "better" than everyone else. It is insulting.

Dear buffalobill,
I am soooo sorry. I completely forgot that I posted that. I know that this is no excuse, but I was really mad and angry at the time and wasn't truly thinking. I am just frustrated that reality TV has taken over the airwaves making it impossible for new and original shows with a plot to succeed. I feel really bad that I have made you mad and I know what it feels like. Please accept my opology. I wish I hadn't said the things I did. I wish I could delete that post. Once again, I am sorry to you and anybody else I may have offended.

Oh, one more thing bill, The things I said weren't actually directed at anybody except the people who bashed the show on the forum, but I was too mean and never should have said them. Again, I am sorry and please forgive me.

goofystitch,
Apology accepted. I could never hold a grudge against a fellow Disneyaholic. We actually both are not fans of "reality tv" so we also have that in common. But to those who enjoy it that is fine by me. I hope for your sake & those who enjoy Wonderfalls that it finds a new home or at least gets a nice dvd release like the one I'm getting for Freaks & Geeks (another one year cancelled show which deserved better). Best of luck, BuffaloBill

Thanks. Before the cancellation, there where only about 100 votes for a DVD release on
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com, but since then, there are now about 900. And a petition I signed to get it back on the air has over 3,000 votes. Maybe it will be back.
