Yeah. I agree. But, I gotta joke: Arnold Schwarzenegger & Sylvester Stallone will both sing the songs for the movie. LMAO! ROFL! LOL! I'm just joking, alright? But rather than that, I'd rather see that movie, but I hope Arnold & Sylvester won't stare in this movie. If they did, it'll be funny.

Of course not. If they were in a Disney movie, we would cry in our sleep.

If they did a It's A Small World movie it should be a horror/thriller movie and rated R.

If they were in a movie it would bomb horriblly.

i think an it's a small world film, if made nowadays would be HORRIBLE. i'm sorry to sound negative, i just don't think it'd work. nowadays i think you need a name for a film to work (or it needs to just be a seriously good film). according to JH (as we all read) the script he said was pretty good, despite the story line being a little cheesy.

had it been made in the 70's i think it would've been really good.
again, nowadays i think it'd be like the country bears.
i'm totally anticipating the jungle cruise.
and i'd love to see them make a big thunder mountain film.

but what do you guys think a haunted mansion film would've been like if they made it in the 70's?

The Haunted Mansion was good, but I think it would of been a good Disney 60's Comedy with Dick Van Dyke.

My word that sounds like a dark film! Nothing says delightful Disney fun than terrorists groups running around New York City trying to slaughter UN kids. How could anyone think this is a good idea?

Small World the movie should be light and happy like the ride. A much better idea would be to make it about a kid who hates where he lives and magically goes on a world tour to see how life is like in other places in the world. That would explain the ride and could be turned into an all age movie Walt could even be proud of.

I can't believe they're considering making a film version of this movie in any configuration, regardless of script. This is just a movie that should not be attempted in any way.

I think if they want to do anything inspired by the "Small World" it would be a T.V show for Playhouse Disney, if they made this into a movie moviegoers will avoid it like the plague.

I think a movie about The Enchanted Tiki room would be more interesting ,since there was never a Disney movie based entirely on Birds and I think Pixar would be perfect for the animation of the movie.

Disney is planning yet another movie based on a theme park attraction.

The movie studio has hired Jon Turteltaub to direct a feature based on the venerable family film ride with the catchy tune. Jared Stern pitched Small World and will write the script. He, Turteltaub and The Lego Movie's Dan Lin will be the producers. This one will take a while to come together but it is envisioned as a potential franchise for the studio. Turteltaub is coming off the CBS Films hit comedy Last Vegas, a movie that has grossed $134 million worldwide. For Disney, Turteltaub directed the first two installments of National Treasure and is working on a third with producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

What a strange ride to base a movie on. It's a cute ride, hardly Hollywood fodder. I have no ideas what the plot will be for this. I hope Disney don't aim this squarely at children.
The animatronic dolls are what makes 'It's a small world'. I can't fathom anything based on Small World without these brightly dressed singing dolls involved.

I know Disney already made a movie based on the Haunted Mansion but DLP Phantom Manor has a great story line to make a movie about if Disney had the balls to make it more adult orientated.

I'll be interested to see how this one plays out and develops.

Live action?! What?? I always assumed there would be a movie at some point, even though I haven't the slightest idea what kind of plot it would have... but I figured it would be animated. I mean hello, the visdev is practically already done! Surely the biggest draw (and the reason it's remained a staple a Disney parks) is because of Mary Blair's bright, bold, distinct designs? I find it hard to believe those will be translated well into live action.

They won't.

I would've loved to have seen Lorelay Bove kind of "pick up the mantle" from Mary Blair and do visdev for an animated feature at WDAS. Her style is obviously very similar.

You're right, Bove's art style is very similar to Blair's which is true when you look at the concept art she did for Tangled, Wreck it Ralph, Frozen etc.

As for this, if they hire a really good writer and director to take this project on, then I'm okay with this.
