I thought the Jonas Brothers were not longer involved with Disney.
In any case, don't these Disney Channel Original Movies usually hire actors from their own television shows? This shouldn't be a shock.

I like the fact that it's live-action. Because if it was animation it'd be too much like the cheapquels.

Literally sighing with relief
Disney Channel is tapping an Australian newcomer to play one of the lead roles in Descendants, a 2015 adventure-comedy movie that will focus on the sons and daughters of heritage Disney characters.
Melbourne-native Mitchell Hope, 19, will play Ben, the benevolent son of Beast and Belle from Beauty and the Beast who is poised to assume the throne of his contemporary kingdom.
Ben's first action is to offer a chance at redemption to the trouble-making children of such classic villains as Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, the Evil Queen and Jafar. They will be allowed to attend prep school with the offspring of such heroes as Fairy Godmother, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel and Mulan and will have to decide whether to help their imprisoned parents return to power or work for the common good and save the kingdom.

And estefan, I have really no problem with Disney Channel stars in this movie as long as they're good choices. Idk about Dove as Mal. I would have casted as a princess TBH

The comedian in me really wants to make some jokes regarding the idea that Cruella De Vil having a kid. The only one I'll share is would the kid complains that when he was born, his mother called him a horrid naked rat with no spots

Are they still calling him Beast ? What happened to the Adam idea ? imho it should be canon since Adam means human and it's clever.
Better than calling a Human King " Beast " anyways

He read opposite Dove (who plays Mal), so I'm guessing they'll become a couple?
Belle's son and Maleficent's daughter... dating. That sounds very Once Upon a Time.
Also, why did all the Disney characters give their children names similair to their own? It's a little weird..

I'm looking forward to this so much. I'm sure it will be cheesy, but I enjoy cheese.
I love Cruella, so I'm most excited about seeing her son.

Oddly enough I agree. I'm not expecting a super amazing movie that will blow my mind away or anything but it could be fun. I at least give them points for originality.

It hasn't been mentioned in this thread before, but Booboo Stewart (from Twilight) has also been cast as Jay, the son of Jafar from “Aladdin”.
