I've actually been really lucky when it has come to gigs. People love touring Australia, especially in summer. The Strokes are interesting, because the first time I saw them it was before the release of their first record (they release it in Australia a little early, because of the tour, 2 days after saw them). They were actually out here OPENING for my favourite band, You Am I. It was this pissy little venue in Newtown, but a great show (freezing night though). The second one was a larger venue (the King of Leon opening for them!), and was awesome too.
White Stripes I've seen in small and large venues, but they rock wherever they go.
The YYY show (2nd time), was set to be the best show ever until she fell offstage

That has actaully become quite a infamous Karen O moment, I understand...
Yes, it has . . . I hear about it a lot, it's neat that you were there. Luckily she was OK.

He was awesome. I saw him in November of '03. Definitely the most emotionally stirring concert I've been too... Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue live = wow. He tours a LOT. A lot, a lot, a lot. So I'm sure you'll get your chance.

Since I last posted, I've seen
Fun Lovin' Criminals
Radiohead!!!! (Bloody awesome show, even from Row K

)
and the one and only...
Tim Rogers & the Temperance Union - Yes, again. This time it was a showcase gig (competition winners; promo tickets only. For the fans, basically). It was only last night at a very small pub, so I'm still riding high on the buzz of the show.
I'm seeing
Jet tomorrow night, with a band from the UK called
The Stands who are also cool.
Rock and roll all night!

One word: wow..
I am not really a fan but I would have loved to have seen the king just once. Unfortunatly me being just 7 years old when he died AND the fact that I don't live in de U.S.A. didn't really help to make that possible.

Yeah, but was it Presley or Costello?
I'd say "Wow" either way, but at the moment I'd be more impressed by the latter...

I already knew that, but it still warrants a big

from me.
And Loomis, you're off your rocker!

Prestley all the way! (Though Costello would be fun, I'll give you that!)

Presley. I saw him in concert at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. My mom was and is a huge fan of the King. It was 6 months before he died as I recall. I actually got pretty close to him, we had crappy seats in the nosebleed area. I was pretty young and not too fond of heights and was sort of freaking out a little bit, so my dad told my mom that he'd take me out and he did. When we were walking around the stadium, we noticed that there was no one in the aisle leading down to the stage and walked down and enjoyed the rest of the show pretty close up. Lol, I guess we should have maybe gotten my mom so she wouldn't have had to use binoculars, but we didn't. Later when we told her, she told my dad that he should have thrown me up on stage because Elvis loves kids! Yeah, thanks mom trying to get me arrested while I'm only a couple of years old!! Anyway, that's my Elvis story, thank you very much!

I saw Elvis Costello two years ago in Atlanta GA. It was a really great show, he was touring his "When I Was Cruel" album, but he also played lots of classics. The only one he didn't play that I wanted to hear was "Everyday I Write the Book", but that's okay.

After seeing David Bowie last night I thought I should post my (short) list.
Suede x2
Travis
Blur
Garbage
The Cardigans
H.I.M.
+ lots of Finnish and Scandinavian bands you wouldn't have heard of
Most of the above have been festival gigs, including the Bowie one. I've never been that much into Bowie but yesterday's gig made me an instant convert

. He was flirting with the audience so effortlessly and seemed to enjoy himself as much as the listeners. Beautiful.

Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Tina Turner and Joe Cocker
Keb Mo
John Lee Hooker
Luther Allison
My wife has dragged me to a couple of Country concerts
Reba Macintyre and Brooks/Dunn
Farmer's Daughter
Alabama and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Bank(actually enjoyed the latter). Also included on this was a solo blond artist who I had never heard off. She had a body and voice suited for video, as long as the sound was muted.
