No, I'm not that stupid haha...merely pointing out the crumbling foundations of the Diamond Edition selection process.
(southern accent)Well, it is the internet. Strange a-things are suggesteded.
Maybe Disney is being politically correct and orchestrating a release schedule where every DAC is 'special'...cue the 'Socialist Edition'
*replaces DAC with "Kid"

Behind every good parent is a raging socialist. :P

Disney Germany released the list of titles that are included in the Diamond Edition line via their official Facebook page.
The Diamond Edition currently includes the following titles:

• Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

• Bambi

• Cinderella

• Lady and the Tramp

• Sleeping Beauty

• The Jungle Book

• The Little Mermaid

• Beauty and the Beast

• The Lion King

So, if either Aladdin or Peter Pan turns out to be a Diamond Edition in the U.S., it means the Diamond line is not a worldwide one as we previously thought. Peter Pan has already been confirmed to be released in 11 territories as a regular Blu-ray and not as a Diamond release.

Aladdin should be part of the Diamond series. Plus the marketing could incorporate the phrase Diamond in The Rough would be very smart to use a a marketing advertising.

Also regarding Aladdin in 3D, I'll Let Daniel Bryan of the WWE tell you, for 10 hours (if someone watches this for 10 hours, my condolences)

Traditionally Peter Pan has always been released in the Spring. Hopefully they are just moving Aladdin to the Fall where it belongs but there's no way to be sure.

I wonder if we can make a online petition for Aladdin 3D 2014 ?

Petitions arent taken seriously anymore because there are too many online petitions asking for stupid things.

They were going to IMAX it weren't they? But then changed their minds about how successful it would be. I think if they want to hit the Lion King-type of audience again, Aladdin would be a good choice for 3D.

I think Mermaid will work as it seems to be, for a vast generation, the favourite Disney. I remember when the Platinum was released, the tagline 'The most request film from the Disney Vault ever'. Plus the fact when it was briefly shown in a London cinema in celebration of Tangled being released, tickets sold out in minutes.

I think Aladdin would be much of the same for scale and scope in 3D personally.

I believe Genie was not happy when told the news that Peter Pan would be on Blu Ray 1st before him.

Man...

I wanted Aladdin. I'm not the biggest fan of Peter Pan, Aladdin means so much more to me. So is Aladdin even going to be Diamond anymore? And what about The Little Mermaid? Christ, Disney is all kinds of ridiculous lately!

Wait, I get it....we're mean't to wish for Aladdin's freedom from the vault. It's all part of an extravogant marketing camaign. To bad I used my third wish on 101 Dalmatians :(

Hmm...I think I read somewhere that TLM would be released theatrically in 3D in 2014 instead of 2013? So maybe, the Diamond release has been postponed as well, and ALADDIN will be 2013 fall's diamond edition?

Or...maybe....3 diamond editions in one year?
Peter Pan for february, Aladdin for June/July and TLM for November?

I am wondering though what will happen to the European diamond released if Peter Pan is already being released this year as a non-diamond. Will EU get NO diamonds at all anymore and just special editions...strange. Not that I care, since I almost always go for the US releases.

I'm glad Peter is still a Diamond, but really hope Aladdin will be as well.

Peter Pan is a great movie but I want Aladdin instead. Hopefully Aladdin gets release as a special edition but I wish it was in the Diamond Edition line. Hopefully Disney is converting it to 3D for 2014 and gets release for Spring or Fall of 2014.

Disney no one gets you anymore. Make up your minds. First you release crappy Blu-ray packaging, then you don't put effort on your Blu-ray releases, and now your movie releases/schedule are confusing.

Still hoping Aladdin is for the USA and Peter Pan for Europe. But who knows until Cinderella gets release on October.

Why would Aladdin be banned ? 0_O

Yeah not pleased about the Peter Pan going Diamond because it means the chances of Aladdin going Diamond now is smaller now...

Nothing negative towards Peter though.

Hopefully Disney didn't just decide to cancel Aladdin as the Diamond Edition for purely political reasons (the recent anti-American riots and attacks in the Middle East...) but in all honesty, I can see them doing just that. If they gutted one of Howard Ashman's last songs for politically-correctness, I can see them treating this movie differently because they're afraid of it evoking 9/11 or anti-Islamic feelings in Americans. Like we're all so petty. (Could you imagine if we were? "Boycott that kid's movie! It's Muslim! We don't want our children looking up to terrorists!" ... ) If the rest of the world gets Aladdin as the Spring Diamond edition, that'll answer it for me.

Hopefully it is for the 3D conversion. But it would have made so much more sense to release that THIS year, to capitalize on the film's 20th anniversary. Honestly, we should have gotten Aladdin this year as the Fall release anyway, instead of Cinderella. Wasn't Aladdin released on Platinum in 2004, and Cinderella in 2005? If they'd have released Aladdin this year and Cinderella next year, it may have given us time to harass Disney about Cinderella's horrible transfer and 'restoration' and there might have been time to fix that. Peter Pan coming out as the Spring release DOES make sense, though, because it is the film's 60th anniversary.

Also the phrase In Aladdin "A Diamond in the Rough" would fit extremely well if Aladdin were a Diamond edition, at least Marketing wise.
