Not to mention she was arguably the worst of the cast, all that pouting, frowning and weird pronunciation of ʧ, ʤ, ʃ, ʒ sounds... I really don't know what is it with Ms Johansson lately, but she hasn't been at the top of her game since 2008 or so. They should have hired Milla Jovovich for this role, she's:
a) a reasonably good actress (see Dummy, Stone and The Million Dollar Hotel)
b) half-Russian
c) speaks Russian
d) natural redhead
e) closer in age to Jeremy Renner
f) has experience in action films

But I guess she doesn't have Scarlett's ASSets... My God, £13 million for T&A .

Joss Whedon Remains Undecided About ‘Avengers 2'
I have not come to a decision on directing Avengers 2 yet, I am having too much fun with this (Firefly reunion) now.”

I hope he does! But we probably won't see another Avengers movie until 2015 (well after Ant Mans release whenever that is)

Don Cheadle hints at War Machine appearance in Avengers 2
The good thing about the Marvel Universe is that all the characters can intersect and everybody can play with each other. So, that may happen just for War Machine on his own. We'll see. Everything's been discussed.

Could be good, but I would prefer a Cameo/Smaller Role like that of Gwyneth Paltrow in the Avengers!

Joss Whedon Talks The Avengers 2 And Marvel’s New TV Show
The translation isn't very good, but once you read it, you can make sense of it.
I also added a new character,

No, SHIELD will be involved in Iron Man 3 (Cobie Smulders has a small role), but hopefully a footnote like in the first IM pic.

Sounds great, i can't wait i'm a huge Marvel fan for 27 years since i was 4 and the movies made my dreams come true.

I'd love to see Black Panther, Wasp and Ant-Man in this movie besides Thanos. And who thinks it would be hilarious if they added one of Marvel's most underrated characters Howard The Duck in this movie? i mean have Thanos accidentally remove him from his dimension into our dimension as he wants to get home with the help of the Avengers. That would be funny.

All I know for sure is that they'll need to go cosmic with some of the new additions to the team.

Whedon Reveals 'Avengers 2' And 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' Details, Agent Coulson Did Survive Loki After All! Rejoice!

WARNING SPOILERS IN THIS LINK. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. ALSO SPOILERS IN QUOTE BELOW IN CASE SOMEONE HASN'T SEEN THE FILM.
It’s only 837 days until The Avengers 2 is released! Wow, when you say it like that, it really does seem like a long time. Anyway, don’t get too depressed, as there’s plenty of other Marvel-ous stuff on the way. Take for example, Joss Whedon‘s upcoming Avengers spin-off TV series, S.H.I.E.L.D. In a recent interview Whedon revealed some more information about this exciting project, as well as some tantalizing tidbits about The Avengers 2.

In regard to the latter, it seems like we’ve at least got a movie outline. Whedon told MTV a basic script was developed back in December and explained it would be completed “in a couple of months.” He also discussed how he imagined approaching this next adventure:

”Don’t go bigger; go deeper. All of these people have met, so you have that out of the way. Now you can spend your time just digging in — and by digging in, I mean with a scalpel, to cause pain.”

This certainly makes sense. Although The Avengers was still an action-packed blockbuster, it was still in many ways the typical set-up movie. But, with the Avengers now assembled, and Thanos ready to cause trouble, I’m certain The Avengers 2 will be worth the wait.

This just leaves S.H.I.E.L.D. The cast of the ABC show has been steadily growing throughout the last few months, and it sounds like these guys will be taking center stage. Whedon explained:

”It’s got to be bigger than your average cop show. But at the end of the day, it’s about the peripheral people… The whole point of the show is that even with all these big things, the little things matter. It’s about people who don’t have super powers. There will be some people with powers, there will be FX, and there will be the spectacle of science-fiction storytelling — but all played on a very human, small level.”

He also confirmed that the events of S.H.I.E.L.D. will take place after the New York battle we saw in The Avengers. Now, that means we can practically confirm the fate of one important character — Agent Coulson. We already knew Clark Gregg would reprise his big screen character for the TV show; the chronology of the series means Agent Coulson did actually survive his encounter with Loki after all.

Currently S.H.I.E.L.D. has been commissioned as a pilot with no guarantee of a full series, but surely ABC won’t send a sure-fire cash-cow like this wandering away. ABC president Paul Lee certainly seems confident we’ll get a full series of S.H.I.E.L.D. He told The Hollywood Reporter:

”We’re very hopeful that it’s going to go to series. It’s a great script. [It is] very Joss. He’s able to be intense and epic and suddenly funny and silly. He’s got that ability to be super-entertaining and yet super-educated.”

We still haven’t received an air date for S.H.I.E.L.D., although it is expected to arrive sometime in Fall 2013.

Also if someone is reading this and has not seen the first Avengers movie, do yourself a favor and go watch it.

Agent Coulson Did Survive Loki After All! Rejoice!
Of course, he does. His Captain America cards sneak away after Fury is done showing them to the Avengers and jump start Coulson's heart. He didn't gain conscious in this film because of slow recovery but the events of the sequel will immediately pick up from where the original ended and Coulson awakens, ready to smother his hero with Hersey's kisses! :P

Jeremy Renner rumoured to be out as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
http://www.flickeringmyth.com/2013/05/j ... ut-as.html
Over the past week or so there's been plenty of talk that the major players in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have expressed some discontent over their contracts with Marvel Studios, stemming from the disparity between their pay packets and that of Robert Downey Jr., who's set to pocket over $100 million from The Avengers and Iron Man 3 combined (and is apparently looking for another $100 million to return as Tony Stark for The Avengers 2 and The Avengers 3).

Of course, Marvel are notorious for playing hard ball, and as we've seen in the case of Terrence Howard and Edward Norton, the studio aren't afraid to recast a role if they feel its appropriate. With that in mind, it's been said that Earth's Mightiest Heroes could be missing a familiar face or two when the Avengers assemble again for the Joss Whedon-directed sequel, and if a new rumour is to be believed we might have our first Phase Two casualty. And surprisingly, it's not down to a pay dispute...

According to a report over at ComicBookMovie an "inside source" is suggesting that Jeremy Renner could be finished with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, owing to some negative comments from the actor about his role as Hawkeye in last year's mega-blockbuster, where he complained that "for 90% of the movie, I wasn't the character I signed on to play." Allegedly, there's the "tiniest chance" that Renner will be back for The Avengers 2, but it's more likely that Hawkeye will be recast, and if so, he could also be integrated to the upcoming Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as a primary character.

While it's entirely possible that the report is little more speculation, it should be noted that Renner is noticeably absent from Phase Two of the MCU, despite the fact that S.H.I.E.L.D. veterans Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill) and Maximiliano Hernandez (Agent Jasper Sitwell) are all set to return alongside Chris Evans' Steve Rogers in next year's Captain America: The Winter Soldier. And considering that Whedon plans to introduce at least two new Avengers, it's hard to imagine Hawkeye will be getting much screen time when 2015 rolls around...

At least it's not about salary. Renner isn't wrong about how his character was written in The Avengers, though that's more something he should discuss with Joss Whedon rather than the studio.

But if I have to be honest, I didn't think Hawkeye was all that interesting in The Avengers and I probably won't miss him if he was written out.

I have to agree. Hawkeye was the most underdeveloped out of all the Avengers. The scenes he is in are all verrrrry underwhelming.

HONESTLY, I did not notice him at ALL until the climax at the end. DEAD Serious!

Hawkeye is actually my favorite Avenger in the comics, but while his action scenes were great in the movie, he really got the shaft compared to everyone else.

Renner did as strong of a job as he could have with such little material, so I'd be sad to see him gone. If Joss can add more for him to do in the sequel though, then I'm seriously excited for his return.

Avengers 2′ — Joss Whedon Confirms Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, Teases Iron Man
http://screencrush.com/avengers-2-scarl ... ss-whedon/
It’s been rumored for the past few months that ‘The Avengers 2‘ would introduce the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver to the ensemble, but this came such early on in the script process that it was taken with a grain of salt. Well, put away the seasoning: writer/director Joss Whedon has confirmed that these characters will have a role in the highly anticipated sequel.

Although not well known to the non-geek crowd, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver have been major players in the Marvel comic book universe for upwards of 50 years. Heck, Scarlet Witch has been an Avenger longer in the comics than many of the more famous heroes, so it makes perfect sense that she’ll be joining the team this time around.

Speaking with IGN, Whedon talked about how the two of them would impact the Avengers team. In true Whedon fashion, he admitted that their inclusion will only make things more difficult for his heroes:

“You know, they had a rough beginning. They’re interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn’t necessarily agree with ‘The Avengers.’ So they’re not there to make things easier. I’m not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier.”

As any Whedon fan will tell you, he’s an angry creative god who doesn’t like his characters to be happy or to live easy lives. If he says the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver will disrupt the Avengers, he means it.

For those unfamiliar with the characters, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff are brother and sister — she has magical, reality-altering powers and he’s pretty much the Marvel Universe’s version of the Flash. In the comics, they’re the children of the X-Men villain Magneto, but that’ll probably be written out of ‘The Avengers 2′ for legal reasons. (Fox owns the rights to the X-Men, after all.) Although we have no idea who will actually fill these roles, Marvel is apparently using Saoirse Ronan as the template they’re looking for. So, uh, maybe they’ll cast Ronan?

Whedon also addressed how Tony Stark will be involved in ‘The Avengers 2′ considering what goes down in the final minutes of ‘Iron Man 3.’ SPOILERS are in the quote below if you’re on of the few remaining people who hasn’t seen the film yet:

Well, I feel like in ‘Iron Man 3,’ even though he said, “I’ve changed” — he blew up his remote suits, but I don’t think anybody thinks he doesn’t have one anymore. The question is, if The Avengers are called, does he show up?And the answer is, “Yes!”

EXCLUSIVE! Jeremy Renner To Remain As Hawkeye! Plans To Reprise Avengers Role!
http://perezhilton.com/2013-05-17-jerem ... ZfXEsqJObM
While it had recently been rumored that Hawkeye was being recast in the Avengers sequel, it looks like Jeremy isn't going ANYWHERE!

Our sources tell us that the recasting rumors are completely untrue and that he will indeed return to the silver screen as Hawkeye! Phew!

And, though it had been reported that some comments Jeremy made pissed off the execs over at Marvel, we're told he's still "very much a part of the Marvel family."

Not only that, but it sounds like we can expect to see Renner in the upcoming installments!!
EDIT

Take this report with a grain of salt

Any news on The Guardians of the Galaxy being in TA2?
