That's why there is the optional textbox "Other: Please Specify"; it does not mean that you are an alien but that you can decide to define yourself as you want: Hispanic/White, African American/Asian etc.

I agree that "White" is not a satisfying term, I just picked the one I read earlier in US surveys.

I have gathered 55 replies so far :) I hope I could reach at least 100.

And of course I will share the results with you.

UP !

No one else to answer this survey? It takes 5 minutes at most!

OR: Do you have other suggestions of American forums on Disney?

Hello paullux,

I think that you may not be getting as many responses as you want due to the fact that a lot of the members who currently frequent this site are not the type of Disney fans who are that interested by the war/propaganda cartoons. Another website you could check out would be From Screen to Theme. It is much smaller than Ultimate Disney, but I would say its members generally tend to be more into Disneyana.

I did, however, do your questionnaire the other day. Good luck with your project! :)

Thank you for this suggestion :)

Actually I did not find many forums dedicated to Disney movies, most of the Disney-related forums are on the parks...aren't they?

But again, many people here have filled the survey out without knowing the propaganda production (which makes the filling even quicker ;).

I didn't like the race question. It has no impact on my answers, and doesn't control ones behavior. It shouldn't be there.

Ok thank you for your reply.

This question has always been discussed in this thread.

It was not meant to be offensive.

AGAIN: I am French and asking someone race in a survey is completely forbidden in my country.
However I do know that this is rather common in the US, and I thought it could be interesting because of racial stereotypes those shorts displayed (as was the case for many propaganda production).

As for the choices of the question, although I agree that "White" is a silly term, this is what I read in most US surveys.

Ok, here is news from the survey :) 62 persons completed it.

WHO COMPLETED IT ?

(I won't come back on all questions, this is to give you a general glimpse)

Mostly men (73%), 20ish people who described themselves either as huge fans (56%) or amateurs (43%).

What interested me was that while the contemporary features (Snow White Fantasia) are known by everybody, 70% know of the most famous warshorts (Der Fuehrer's Face).

Many people (I don't have the precise % with me) considered themselves as huge fans without knowing any wartime shorts (this is no critic !).

It also appeared that while the most famous war shorts (Education, Chicken Little, Der Fuehrer's Face) may have been seen on the Internet without having bought the Front Lines DVD, only those who have the DVD have seen the non popular shorts (whereas they are all available on the Net).

This has to be linked with what you think of those shorts: while many of you (73%) describe them as interesting and even entertaining (63%), further comments show not all shorts are regarded as such, only the most popular and least outdated.
However, you almost all agree on their historical, pedagogical interest.

Again, Thanks a lot :)
