I bought a 42 inch 3D HDTV and a PS3 (which plays 3D blu-rays) for $850 last week (I have been saving for a few months now). For well under a grand, it was definitely a steal. The 3D is of course optional, and the HD picture itself is superb as well, which is important because I probably watch 3D only about 25% of the time. Also has internet apps built into the TV, which is an interesting feature. Here's the TV for those interested: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Vizio-42-E3D420VX/15992330
I won't be re-purchasing recently released 3D blu-rays I already have like Beauty and the Beast, but I just bought The Lion King and Cars 2 and will be sticking to the the 3D blu-ray combos from here on out. It is a pretty amazing in-home experience and I still think the 5-disc combos are very affordable considering all it includes.
