Here's an interesting story about Zac:
http://www.contactmusic.com/news/zac-ef ... ne_1249285
Zac Efron was treated to a $100,000 bottle of champagne on a night out in Chicago.
The 'Charlie St. Cloud' star was presented with a Nebuchandnezzar - a 15 litre bottle - of Armand de Brignac Champagne, also known as the 'Ace of Spades', from the son of a Russian billionaire while at the Board Room nightclub on Tuesday (04.10.11), according to TMZ.com.
Zac was there with actress Heather Graham, as the pair are currently in the city shooting a new drama movie directed by Ramin Bahrani.
This article might be considered a bit dated (it's a few weeks old), but I'll post it anyway:

Zac Efron has been looking more like a manly man these days and the ladies aren’t complaining. From being out in his underwear, to peacing out like a bad ass when he leaves the grocery store, we just can’t get enough of the more tough looking Zac. Now women everywhere will get another opportunity to swoon over him as he stars in another Nicholas Sparks novel being adapted for the big screen.
And finally, this article reveals that Efron will be starring in an untitlted comedy with Seth Rogen:
http://www.greatnewmovies.com/2011/10/0 ... ew-comedy/
Seth Rogen, the co-star of Zac Efron in the forthcoming untitled comedy movie said that, Zac would be playing a bad boy character in the comedy movie. The 29-year-old Seth Rogen gushes about the role of Zac Efron, in the upcoming R-rated comedy flick. He also added that, it is amazing to be working with Zac, who is known for playing the clean roles from ‘High School Musical’ to ’17 Again’. Seth also insisted that, the fans of Zac will be shocked, seeing him in an outrageous role, which he is playing for the first time.

This movie is currently shooting in the city I live in, DeKalb, IL. Some of my students have seen him around, but I have yet to even see the film shooting lol.

Forget Zac, that $22,510 tip for Jasmine is pretty amazing.

What do you mean? He's not given up acting or anything like that. Do you mean that you've met him?

Well, he hasn't had a film or come out recently... that's all...

Zac is apparently a 'cracker of a cover boy':

Also, he was voted in a 'ChaCha search' (whatever the bloody hell that is) to be the "hottest guy" and hotter than the pale and talentless Robert Pattinson:

Finally, here is a gallery of images compiled to celebrate his birthday several days ago:

His paleness doesn't bother me. It's just that his face is unattractive (to me, personally). And the hair--wth?
I have just never understood the female fangasms over him. But I never understood some other female fascinations either (Patrick Dempsey comes to mind).

I'm not gay or female, but while we're on the subject, I don't exactly get the appeal of Tom Felton. What do fangirls see in him?

Well, they obviously don't like him because of any talent he has like acting.

If you're wondering what they see in him in regards to his looks, they are presumably attracted to him due to his slightly angular features and stylised blonde hair.

A poster and featurette have recently been released about "The Lucky One" starring Efron in the lead role:
http://wearemoviegeeks.com/2011/11/the- ... ew-poster/
Clearly, Efron has impressively worked out for the role quite a bit (his bicep is nearly as big as his head). However, I wish he was portraying a more challenging role; this film will doubtlessly be bland and cliche, and Efron can do movie material of a much higher standard - he's a genuinely talented actor.
It's a shame that he may be seen as mere eye candy because of this film; the featurette makes it clear that its just his body that is the star of the movie.

Never underestimate bad boy appeal.

It'll get 'em every time.

You make a good case there; most of the HP fanfiction worshipping him probably exists because of Draco Malfoy's personality. I can't imagine Tom Felton being as popular if he played a kind, friendly character...

Efron's upcoming movie
The Paperboy is much more intriguing than the bland, predictable
Lucky One; it irks me when Efron chooses such poor films, because he is genuinely talented.
The plot is compelling, telling a nostalgic thriller about two brothers investigating the possibly wrongful conviction of a man facing execution, and stars Nicole Kidman. The poster has a vintage, 70's style to it, with the faded colours and Efron curiously resembling James Dean:

But even I think he's good looking, and I'm not usually into the blonde hair blue eyed type.
