I say bad form Disney on this one! Blu-ray hasn't even 100% replaced DVD yet and they are already pulling stupid stunts to get people switch to Blu-ray 3D. I hope this blows up in their face and they realize what a boneheaded move this was!
It's not just Disney pulling this stunt. Notice how very little extras there were on the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 Blu-Ray? Sure they're eventually releasing an Ultimate Edition, but c'mon.
I'm not really into "Potter" so I missed that one.

I don't see how that would have worked.
Lightning McQueen had only just met the other characters in Cars. You couldn't have Lightning and Mater being friends in a prequel, because they wouldn't have known each other at all.
It's a believable concept in Monsters University because Mike and Sulley already have an established relationship (their friendship) in Monsters, Inc. It seems like they had been friends for years, so a prequel of a time before would be imaginable.
Cars 2 couldn't have taken place before Cars. Cars 2 is a sequel, not a prequel.

Yeah you have to take what people say with a grain of salt who aren't in the know about Disney haha I remember one of my teachers said Fantasia came out in 1939 but I didnt correct him. Lol that's why I love this site

Eh, too pricey for such a shoddy sequel. If there is a coupon, maybe I will reconsider. Otherwise, I can wait for a price drop.

I think there will be, the Target ad scan I saw mentioned visiting the Target site for a coupon, which usually means there is a DMR one (unless Target starts doing exclusive coupons).

The $5 coupon appears to be live as I was able to print mine out.

I sure hope Target gets the regular 3D combo packs in because I'm not crazy about the exclusive snow globe packaging and Best Buy is a little too far away for me. If they get the regular 3D combo packs in (hopefully they will), I'll just do a price match of Best Buy.

Oh and I'm still not happy about the special features withholding fiasco unless you buy the 3D combo pack.

Thanks! Just printed my coupon. I'll probably pick it up for $19.99 at Best Buy unless a better deal shows up.
Not sure how all Target's do this, but at my local one they usually stock the exclusive version first. When they run out the normal edition is put out.

The ad calls it a Limited Edition Light Up Case, so the discs are probably inside the globe. Similar to the Buzz packaging they had with Toy Story 3 last year.

OMG I thought that was a joke,
AliceinWonderland, that set looks fake hahah. It's almost identical to the TRON Legacy set! I had to look it up to see if it was real!
