A Cinderella Story - I had to see this with my Sister (who was the target audience) and it was just

I couldn't believe it got a cinema release. So contrived and silly.
Not Another Teen Movie -

I don't know why I decided to watch it.
Dodgeball:The Original Underdog Story - It left a bad taste in my mouth.
The Nanny Diaries - So boringly familiar

Another Gay Sequel. Dreadful! Doesn't even have any camp value.

I still have to watch that one. Scarlett Johnsson is in it, right?
Dr Frankenollie wrote:Gosford Park may be slow-paced, but that's one of the good things about it-it gives time to build character. The film, as many great films do, focuses on character rather than plot; the characters are believable, interesting, well-developed, and some are likable, some are detestable, and many remind us of people we know.
Except that it doesn't build any characters and we don't get to know them. I've watched it for over an hour, and the only thing I learned about them, is that they liked to walk around the house all the fucking time!

How about some Japanese anime' films. I find most of them intolerable because of the lousy animation and they make sure that all the characters have 'big round eyes'.
I do own a couple of the "best" of the anime films, but that's about it. I love "Akira", and "Spirited Away". I also have a couple other that I probably haven't watched since I bought them, and they are probably in my "sell these" stack of discs.
Another series of movies that I would consider in the "worst" category are the Troma films, you know, "Toxic Avenger I - XXV" or something like that. C'mon we have better things to do than watch that stuff.

Yes she is. You might find it alright if you haven't seen

Do I strike you as the type of person who would watch that?

That's pretty shitty reason to hate anime because of the eyes. Might as well hate Disney too, since many Anime drew it's "big eye" syndrome influences from Disney.
Some of animation in some of them are pretty top notch. usually the tv series ones aren't as fluid in animation. But even still that, it's pretty well done for a tv series considering what limited time they do have.
I'm also curious which anime movies you find so "bad".

Not at all!
On one hand, this means that
The Nanny Diaries wouldn't give you a sense of deja vu, but on the other, it's really not your thing.

You're writing off an entire group of movies simply because you don't like the medium in which they're presented? That's shallow. That's just as bad as not watching anything animated because you believe "cartoons are for kids."
With that said, not all anime has big round eyes and money saving techniques applied (believing that is stereotyping). I personally feel a lot of the traditionally animated features that come out of Japan are superbly animated and usually for about 1/9th the price of a Disney feature. Believe it or not, there is more then one art director and character designer in Japan, which means not all anime will look the same.
Trust me; I hate the colorful hair, giant eyes, high pitched voices, over acting, seizure inducing flashing, and swirly poop that you find in a stereotypical anime but I've seen many Japanese animated shows and features that have NONE of that.

Ah, well, that's not entirely true. I recently watched
Another Cinderella Story and the Disney Channel's
Princess Protection Program. With the right leading ladies, you can get me to watch a whole lot of crap.
Yeah, I'm superficial that way, but at least I don't try to justify it by saying these movies have 'hidden deeper meanings' or something like that.
Dr Frankenollie wrote:We do get to know them, through their mannerisms, their expressions, their tones, the seemingly pointless character-building moments, etc. They don't say their emotions, the actors and actresses embody their emotions, and thus embody their characters.
Oh, but I don't need the characters to speak out their emotions, if that's what you thought. I'd rather have they don't. But I just didn't see what you saw in it. But if you enjoyed it, great for you! But to me, when even Kelly Macdonald can't say it, it's a bad movie.

Goliath, you'll watch a crappy movie because of Selena Gomez but WON'T watch an actually decent one with Anne Hathaway?

1.) Selena Gomez is hot.
2.)
The Devil Wears Prada doesn't appeal to me at all, nor does Anne Hathaway, so why would I watch it? She may be a good actress, but even good actors make bad movies from time to time.

Note to Goliath:
Have you seen the movie "Havoc" with Freddy Rodriguez and Anne Hathaway? That is one that I had recommended to me and actually watched twice. It is in my collection of movies now, because I think it is that good.
Note to jpanimation:
I just don't understand what the big deal is with Anime'. We all have our tastes in movies, and I just happen to think that the Japanese animation leaves a lot to be desired. As noted, I do own "Akira", and "Spirited Away".
Those two movies really rock my world for several different reasons. The others that I have tried to watch just don't make me want to watch them. One that comes to mind is the horrible, in my opinion, "Kiki's Delivery Service". I fell asleep trying to watch this one three different times. So I tried to watch it.
You can watch what you want, and I will watch what I want and we should all be happy with that. And foul language doesn't make anyone a better person!!!

I re-watched the film on FX the other day, and I actually thought Hathaway was the worst part of that movie, tbh. I normally like her, but her performance felt lazy.
Meryl Streep is the reason that film was as big as it was. And she was amazing. But the movie's based on generic chick lit, so otherwise it is kind of blah.
@ the anime debate: I honestly don't think dvdjunkie's seen any real anime other than the well-known Ghibli films and maybe some Yu-Gi-Oh! or Pokemon commercials.

Another addition I want to make to my worst movies ever list would be any of the Final Destination films. All these movies seem to have the same formula: "How can we kill people in the most gruesome ways possible?". The deaths don't even seem real half the time.
I am also not a fan of chick flicks (like other guys) as I find most of them terribly cliche and repetitive, but one I especially dislike as an example is The Break Up, which I stupidly chose seeing over X-Men the Last Stand (Which probably wouldn't have been amazing, but still would've been better than that other piece of crap).

I haven't seen that one, and a 5.4 rating on IMDb and a (as far as I can tell) predictable, cliched plot-description doesn't really make me curious.
I also don't like anime.

My post here was the stupidest defence Anime has ever been given.
I second what jpanimation wrote about the amazing artform.
