Disney's Divinity wrote:Anyway, I always thought L&tT came out the same year as Mermaid in the Platinum line? What came out in March with Mermaid in 2007?
2001 - Snow White
2002 - Beauty And The Beast
2003 - The Lion King
2004 - Aladdin
2005 - Bambi & Cinderella
2006 - Lady And The Tramp & The Little Mermaid
2007 - Peter Pan & The Jungle Book
2008 - 101 Dalmatians & Sleeping Beauty
2009 - Pinocchio
So yeh, LATT was released the same year as TLM in 2006.

As far as I know, and am concerned, yes. Unless there comes proof that LATT won't be part of it, they might change the line up altogether.
Altho I'm sure they'll be released eventually, just not as DE.

2006? There goes my prophecy.
But I'm kind of surprised they would put
Cinderella and
Mermaid together in the same year. I'm thinking they're two of the biggest sellers, considering they're probably the most popular of the princess merchandise, so I would've thought Disney would've wanted to spread them out for maximum money-making.

This was the surprise for my source as well. Especially Cinderella 3D. I think we have to wait a few months before they actually announce the new line up to the public.

I think it would be great if they didn't follow the Platinum Schedule and shuffled the line up a bit. We already know what the Diamond Edition line up consists of, but I feel it would be more exciting for us to not know which title is coming out of the vault next. IMHO, I think the whole moratorium on these films is a joke, it is so inconsistent. Each film went from being released every 10 years to 5 (not that I'm complaining) but, if they really cared about increasing the value of these films, they really need to consider keeping those prequels/midquels/sequels locked up in that vault.

Even the general public doesn't even notice the moratorium on these titles. They can easily find these movies on EBAY.
Imagine Cinderella , The Little Mermaid and Tinkerbell all in the same year !! Not to mention Brave, the first Pixar princess animation !

Really? They're releasing Pinocchio and Sleeping Beauty in the Diamond Edition line?
Okay, I think those movies have been as perfected as they could have been in the Platinum line, albeit Jiminy's "Right!" during the 'Give A Little Whistle' number.

I think until then Disney might come up with other line to rerelease everything else, thats why they are pushing out 2 major Diamond titles per year

Meh, they'll be one disc only editions with most meaty stuff in virtual vault anyway

Well, why would I get it then when the recent releases have some already neat special features and the best picture we've got??

Because some people may not have it.

Perhaps we might be having The Little Mermaid in 2012 to help promote the New Fantasyland at Disney World?

What do you mean TLK getting released in 2012? It's coming this fall. Or are you saying you heard that it and it's sequels will be released separately.
I really hope that you're right about Pocahontas though!!!!! Now if only we could get Hunchback and Hercules. Seriously, what does Disney have against them!?!

Sorry, i meant all Lion Kings will be released eventually in 2012. Possibly package in one set. The BD is coming in October still. Personally i'm disappointed that TLM is gone.
