So, I'm not sure about these. I'm not a fan of 3D, but these just sound really cool. Of course I would have to try one out before buying, but are these really hard on the eyes?

I've heard mixed things. Similar to people with 3D movies at home/theater. Some have eye strain, headaches, etc... Its nice that the 3D is optional, and the system seems to have a nice graphics boost to justify a new system, even with the 3D feature turned off.

I was waiting for a price drop or a "Lite/XL" model (you know Nintendo will release a updated version of this in a year or two), but Zelda, etc... really make me want one.

Still haven't tried a demo unit yet, and I don't know anyone that has one... Might have to check one out at Best Buy this weekend while I'm out. My local Target never put the demo unit out, and I tend to avoid Gamestop as much as possible.

I feel myself being swayed. Gamestop is offering $50-$100 when you trade-in your old DS. Since the 3DS is BC, sounds pretty good. Cant remember when the offer ends.

I've read mixed reviews on how the 3DS scales DS games. From what I've seen I'm going to keep my DS Lite whenever I get a 3DS to play my older DS games.

^scaling......I doubt I'd really even care. I can just use a ROM and Desmume and play the game on my PC and scale it there. The graphics are hardly gonna be improved anyway and I'm sure that if Nintendo is in the 21st century, they'll dish out firmware updates.

Yeah the resolutions are different and it causes the DS games not to be as clear when it stretches them out. You can do 1:1, but it makes the images smaller with black bars on all 4 sides on both screens. Its a mixed thing on reviews. Some don't mind, and some hate it. I personally haven't seen it myself.

Anyway I'm starting to take back what I said on waiting to get a 3DS until a price drop/"Lite" version happens. I may have to pick one up in June when Zelda is released.

^Yeah, I know about resolution differences. Never needed anyone to explain that. I'm just saying that it's already a small screen and there's not much that can be done about graphics quality for original DS games,

Just thought I'd post here that, for those of you who don't know, there's supposed to be a major update available on the system tonight. It will include the eShop, Internet Browser, System Transfer (from DSi and DSi XL), Automatic System Updates, and improved stability. In addition, the eShop will be offering a 3D version of "Excitebike" for free until July 7. Also, those who own Ridge Racer 3D may experience disruption in gameplay which will be resolved in an additional system update.

I downloaded the Eshop update today. I played Excitebike for 3 minutes and quickly got bored with it.

I bought an eShop card today when I was out. I bought two games so far with it: The Legend of Zelda; Link's Awakening DX and Super Mario Land. I never played Link's Awakening before but I had Super Mario Land as a kid (and I sucked at it).

I also checked out some of the trailers for upcoming games such as Super Mario (which looks AWESOME) and Ocarina of Time 3D (Which I preordered).

It looks like the 3DS is starting to redeem itself at last.

I've put off buying a 3DS because of the library. After the E3 announcements I hope to get one this summer. Lots of good stuff announced, plus Wii U looks great.

I am so damn excited for Ocarina of Time later this week! I already own the GC port, but.....I needed it! XD

I've also been thinking about grabbing a points card at Gamestop when I go to pick up my copy of OoT so I can download Majora's Mask on Virtual Console, and maybe Link's Awakening too. Never played either....Twilight Princess is one of my all-time favorite games, though.

By the way, it's totally unfair that other countries get an awesome ocarina preorder bonus and the US gets zip. I did hear something about posters though, anyone else......?

There is a music CD if you register your game with Club Nintendo.

I don't have a 3DS yet, but I'm tempted to go ahead and pick this game up to get the CD.

Its been ages since I played Link's Awakening, but its a lot of fun. I've never played Majora's Mask either.

Thanks for the heads up! I had no idea about the CD--registering on Club Nintendo now. Although the "while supplies last" note is making me nervous....ah well.

I honestly have only played one handheld Zelda game before, and that was Oracle of Seasons waaaaay back in the day when I rented it from Blockbuster (I remember renting entire gaming systems from them once upon a time--N64, mainly).

And I also remember seeing Majora's Mask in Sears when it first came out: they had a tiny little videogame section in with all the little boy's clothes, so while my mom shopped for my brother I'd play the demos. I distinctly recall being terrified of the evil, scary moon that was crashing down to kill everyone LOL.

Family Video still offers game systems for rent. At least, they did last time I tried 4 years ago.

Starting tomorrow at Target, they will be offering 50% off any 3DS game when purchased with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D.

Anybody else having problems filling out the survey & getting the free Zelda soundtrack cd? Well, it let me fill out the survey---but then when it was time for the promotion, I only got the top portion of the popup (red bar) and the rest never loaded. Called customer support, and a very nice lady took my phone number/confirmed my address/email and said someone would contact me about getting the cd.....

Due to strong demand and technical issues, we are extending this offer. Members who register the game by midnight, Pacific Time on Monday June 20, 2011 will receive the soundtrack CD.

Thanks, that is awesome for everyone who wanted the cd & were afraid the limited stock would prevent them from getting it! Actually not long after I posted here I called Nintendo a second time & was assured I was already slated to get a cd, but this is just extra assurance that makes me feel even better.

I really kinda wish things like this didn't happen--put it up for sale for a limited time, sure, but this whole 'it's a race to see who can snap em up!' always gives me an anxiety attack.
