You young whipper-snappers! *shakes cane* I've typically said it's the
Grease of the current generation, minus the adult themes.

Don't forget Ashley Tisdale's... Ashley Tisdaleness.
Another thing I enjoyed about the
High School Musical franchise is when Phil Dunphy danced to "We're All in This Together" in the
Modern Family pilot, just for the sake of Phil.

I like all three, (and they're the only DCOMs I would own-- and I do, on Blu-ray) but I gotta say the third one is the best by far! I like the first one 2nd best, and then the second one the least.

The first film was the best one and I think they should've left it alone after that. The second one was only so-so. A great soundtrack but only tolerable because Sharpay really stole the show. But HS3 was just downright terrible and hard to sit through.

I used to really like the first film. I even went to the trouble of buying the CD and DVD. The second one was pretty terrible, but for some reason I bought the Blu-ray (it was probably cheaper or I had a coupon and recently switched to Blu-ray). I never saw the third one believing it would be as craptastic as the second film. I can't even remember the last time I watched either the first or second film.

I still have it in my porn file folder. I don't fap to it that much anymore.

Thanks for keeping us updated on your fapping habits!
Duckburger wrote:Lol. Yeah, I've seen that photo. That girl is crazy for putting that stuff online.
I don't think *she* put that online herself. It was meant for her boyfriend and somehow it got leaked? Didn't she apologize for it? That was stupid. It was private business.

I highly recommend seeing the third film. I think it has a great story and soundtrack.

I'd rank them:
1. HSM2
2. HSM3
3. HSM
HSM2 is still the only one I re-visit once in a blue moon. Sharpay and Ryan were at their best in this movie, and I liked its songs (I Don't Dance, Fabulous, Bet On It) although HSM3 probably has the best soundtrack overall.

I've never stopped listening to the 3 HSM soundtracks; they're still in heavy rotation for me even after all these years. I don't watch the films much these days, but I did watch HSM3 a few months ago, and it was just as great as always (except the flaws stick out like a sore thumb, but I still love it).

Yeah, that hasn't really changed much 14 years later, Andi Mack aside.

I didn't know/remember that Drew Seeley was in the running for Troy at the same time Zac was. I knew that Corbin initially wanted to play Ryan, but then he saw Lucas dance so he didn't go after Ryan. I didn't know that Lucas was working at Blockbuster! I think I recently read that Lucas read for Troy...but I don't fully remember...(my brain is mush lately). I have never heard of the song "Everyone's a Winner" and I am so curious as to what the chorus sounded like! Or was it the same tune, just different words?!
“The week before it premiered, everyone got cold feet. It was the most money the Disney Channel ever spent on a television movie.” - They advertised the crap out of HSM before it aired, so I am totally shocked that a week before they had cold feet. The advertising clearly worked (not that they would have known that, but when I think about my early college time, HSM advertising before it premiered legit sticks out in my mind- I was so excited!
That's sad that Vanessa & Ashley didn't want to be interviewed- they just did the Disney Sing Along a year ago, right? Oh well. They got Corbin & Lucas! Did they not reach out to Monique or Oleysia? And Ashley was in the 4th movie, which wasn't mentioned...

I can't stop imagining what a version of HSM with Corbin Bleu as Ryan would've been like now.

Corbin is an amazing dancer, too, so poor guy for feeling intimidated by Lucas. Imagine if they got the initial parts they wanted, right, not only with Corbin as Ryan, but with Lucas as Troy!? For the 20th anniversary (or sooner!), those guys should recreate some moments with the roles they originally wanted. We love HSM as is, but what could have been! I really just want Corbin tap dancing with Big Red on HSMTMTS. I need that in my life.

Ashley Tisdale & Lucas Grabeel's Drama & Other 'HSM' Behind The Scenes Details
https://www.thethings.com/ashley-tisdal ... s-details/
I knew most of these...This is another that I *think* I had read before but forgot about? Ashley auditioning as Gabriella! And I did not know that Sterling Knight auditioned for Troy! They dubbed his voice or combined his voice for
StarStruck just like they did for Zac is HSM1, so same... I had recently read that Naya Rivera had auditioned for Gabriella. I really like Vanessa Hudgens, so I'm glad she got the part, but Naya was super talented.

That's sad that Grabeel and Tisdale didn't get along at first. I wish Ms. Darbus and the coach had got a song! I always liked Darbus.
