It's a shame, because people aren't aware that there is another more viable option. Both of the corporate owned parties pay good money to paint Libertarians as anarchist and extremists, to scare off any possible voters, when it's actually dead center of the political spectrum.
Well, I've heard libertarians (both American and Dutch) speak about their ideas and I would see they're pretty extreme. I share most of their opinions on foreign policy, though. Most of their economic and social views seem to be a throwback to the 1890's. But, there should be different parties for different kinds of people. I'd like to see the Green Party becoming a viable alternative in the US. And of course an American Socialist Party, like we have in The Netherlands.

In his last show of 2010, Jon Stewart did one more follow-up on this story. He dedicated the entire first two segments to the issue of the Senate Republicans filibustering a health relief bill for 9/11 first responders.

He brought out four fire-fighters/NYPD policemen who were first responders on 9/11. They now suffer from lung and heart diseases and different kinds of cancers. But they also have to battle their insurance companies, because they don't get coverage, so this is a financial burden on them as wel. And the Senate Republicans didn't find the time to vote on this. They did find time to vote on tax breaks for people making over $ 250,000 a year.
Jon Stewart was the only one to tackle this story. The *only* one. NBC, ABC, CBS and all of the cable 'news' networks did not cover this story once in the past months. Stewart was the *only* one to talk to actual 9/11 first responders and listen to them and let them tell their stories.
Now tell me Stewart is "just a comedian".
