Peter. Pan. OVERKILL!

Two Pan movies were enough.

Now we have 5 spin-off films about Tink/the fairies.

And a new kid's show about the lost boys.

Seriously, a live action Tink movie?

Make it stop!

I like Peter Pan but this is just too much for me...

Don't forget "Peter and the Starcatchers" which is being produced by Disney Theatrical.

It is? Ugh... I knew there was talks of making it a DTV (like a Peter Pan 3, only the prequel...)

She reminds me of Chelsea Handler for some reason. They look very similar.

I do like Elizabeth Banks though, but just her alone will not make me go see this. Not a fan of rom-coms, well most of them, especially ones that will probably end up making no sense whatsoever. She can do better too, no doubt. And I know, we haven't seen the film... blah, blah, blah... we don't know the script... blah, blah, blah... stop hating... blah, blah, blah. Spare me.

They made fun of that on 30 Rock. Banks's character stepped out on the red carpet and the first thing out of the paparazzi's mouth was "Chelsea Handler over here!".

But I think if Chelsea was cast in the role of Tink the movie would be very, very different. And have a very different rating, too.

Elizabeth Banks Talks about her 'Tinker Bell' Film
http://www.moviehole.net/201251863-eliz ... rbell-film
Elizabeth Banks wrote:It’s a live action 'Tinker Bell' movie sort of in the vein of 'Elf' in which I would play Tinker Bell. Tinker Bell gets thrown out of Never Never Land, and it’s about where she goes and who she meets and the adventures she has….Tinkerbell is one of the greatest characters because she’s mischievous and snarky and fun and sexy and jealous and vengeful.

We’re in script stage and everybody is really excited and blah, blah, doesn’t mean anything. You might as well not even write it down because who knows, it might not even happen.

Wow. It's been a while since we heard any news about Tink.

I really hope it does happen. It has the potential to be a great movie

Nopity nope noperson !!

There is honestly no need for this whatsoever.

An animated character in a real world setting, getting ready for the crazt impact of real life ? I'd rather Enchanted II in all honesty.

This has been in production since sometime around '06 or '05. I don't think it'll ever happen.

I hope it doesn't happen.

I think this would really ruin the character, making her look low quality, aside from being an awful concept, and also aside from it being...altogether now...un-Disney! I even think the dtv Tinker Bell films are un-Disney in making her talk and have all those adventures and it being "real" instead of an alternate reality or dream but at least that's only a dtv which you wouldn't count...but I guess we could just not count this film either, it's not a DAC.
Margos wrote:Whatever this is, it certainly can't be canon. We already have a perfectly good Peter Pan Universe, complete with a detailed Pixie Hollow, and we don't need this nonsense mucking it up.
The dtv Pixie Hollow isn't canon either! :P

I regard the Tinker films as canon.

They are not DTV here, all were released in the cinema.

They are beautiful films, unlike this trash.

I agree. I'm obsessed with Tink (and Ariel, and have an ever growing love for Rapunzel), but I only got to finally see all three films last week (owned the blu-rays, but never had enough spare time to give them the attention I wanted to), and I was really happy with how each one seemed better than the last, and the first had some really great stuff, even if some of the humor was too little girl-ish.

I saw it, but I thought it would be fun (well, fun is perhaps an exaggeration, maybe interesting instead) to see that other sites have picked up this and reported about it as well. (I also think that Collider.com is good at writing their posts in a funny way, making them a little entertaining to read sometimes.)

I don't want to sound mean but only what was made by the people who made the original can factually be said to be canon. But you can believe its canon in your opinion. I would just think that the people that made the original film would not like people accepting stories unapproved by them as the same thing. Imagining how they would feel doesn't feel good.

Not really. It's up to the Walt Disney Company whether these films are canon with the original Peter Pan film or not. I wouldn't be surprised if, with some of their direct to video stuff (Cinderella 3, mainly), they might be willing to say, "that is not canon," but it wouldn't surprise me if they said the Tink movies ARE to be considered canon. Though, more than likely they will never comment on it one way or the other, which really leaves it up to the fan.

The tinkerbell films are quite beautiful; I know you hate them Duster, but I will not on this occasion let you beat down my own thoughts on this.

The only person who could say they are canon is JM Barrie. And he probably wouldn't even have approved of Walts version of PP as it is so different.

The Tink films add a wealth of background to the world of fairies, and include things from the original story (NOT Disneys version). For example a baby laughing created Tink.

The legend of faires from all over the world have some of their myths explores here too; it isn't just some cheap thrown together DTV nonsense like Cinderella 3 or Mermaid. It is a well thought out, planned and executed series of films.
