In Germany it got his own channel.
2) Toon Disney either turned into Disney XD or Disney Cinemagic, depending on what country you live in.
Also Toon Disney still exists here, while we got both other programs (Disney XD and Disney Cinemagic HD) separately.

I'm sorry about the mistake. I didn't know that these channels doesn't coexist in the US!

Strange that they would do that. How similar are Toon Disney, Disney XD, and Disney Cinemagic in Germany?

Im really liking this idea. If I may throw in my two cents, they should make it a bit like the old Disney Channel, and have tons of old content, but also have some more recent material that doesn't air anymore, like Lilo and Stitch: the Series, and the Buzz Lightyear cartoon. Even Phineas and Ferb would be okay with me, but that's still going on other channels. Also, all of Disney's Animated Movies should be given airings.

I'd draw the line at 1985 -- the year Walt Disney Productions became The Walt Disney Company. The modern shows still have plenty of outlets.

But not all of them. The Disney Afternoon shows (Gummi Bears, DuckTales, Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, Bonkers, Gargoyles, etc.), for example, aren't being broadcast on TV anywhere in the USA currently.

So, it would be wise to include SOME post-1985 shows and films like those, especially the inaccessible ones.

The whole "renaming of the company after 1985" bit is a bit discriminatory, IMO. And just because Walt Disney Productions was renamed The Walt Disney Company does not mean that ANY of its magic died.

It's Walt's own film and TV library and cartoons that seem to be missing in recent years (so far as cable is concerned). Bringing his work back on a regular basis would do a lot to clarify that perception.

Yeah, but also keep in mind that everything made between 1967 and 1985 (with the exception of the projects that Walt did greenlight before his passing) is post-Walt material as well, so don't go ruling anything out.

Vintage Disney Channel

I think it is a great idea. Let me throw you guys a thought and you mull it around a bit. I'm 27 and a lifelong Disney fan. I rarely if ever even turn the Disney channel on in my house anymore. When I watch my two nephews (7 & 9) we break out my collection (sadly incomplete thanks to our good friends at Disney) of Disney Afternoon cartoons, as well as numerous classic Disney movies I have on DVD. My point is, when I was 7,8,9ish (their age) we bought our cable TV package based on whether or not the Disney Channel was offered. I was exposed, back in the days when the Disney Channel had respect for itself, to Guy Williams as Zorro, to a then goofy Kurt Russell as Dexter Riley in many 60's movies, to Fleetwood Mac: Going Home (part of Disney's adult evening fair). What did we do to deserve this kind of treatment from the Disney Corporation.

Not in America, for a good number of them.

Here, here! I never really watch tv, because of the crap that's always on. The only show that I will watch is Law and Order. I would watch a Disney Classics channel everyday however. I've never really seen any of the short films, and I think that that would be great.

I'd love a Vault Disney/Disney Classics channel. I don't have Disney CineMagic available from my Cable company (but I DO have Disney on Demand and get to see episodes of shows and new DCOMs early. My dad had it added to my lineup late last month).

I miss the old Disney Channel. The one that I watched at my maternal Grandmother's house back in the 1980s. The one with Pooh Corner and Dumbo's circus and 90% Disney studio movies.

Disney Channel preview weeks were so much fun, because the programming back then was quality.

After viewing that Youtube video that you posted, disneyfella, I found this one with bumpers starring Donald:

First of all, sorry for the long waiting. I was overlooking this thread.^^
The three channels do all have their own profile and there is almost none crossover. Toon Disney shows all the older Disney TV series from the 80s and 90s (Gargoyles, Aladdin, TLM, Ducktales, Chip 'n' Dale, Gummy Bears etc.), Disney XD more younger series (Phinneas and Ferb), shows and also non-disney stuff like pokemon while Disney Cinemagic is nearly an absolute movie station with disneys live action films, DACs and just a few (one or two) series.

We need an outlet for Walt Disney's classic programming - - uncut and uncensored and presented without irony. With all the current channels, you'd think even even one day - - like Sunday - - could be dedicated to perpetuating the classics.

I'd have a channel that would have things like movie theme weeks. One week: Princess movies (animated ones, no cheapquels). The next week: Hello With Haley Mills with her movies from the 1960s (and NOT the Parent Trap II tv movie or any of those sequels).

Dog Gone week: 101 Dalmatians, Old Yeller and other Dog themed movies. Maybe a whole hour of Pluto cartoons. in between movies or something.

And NO DCOMs would be allowed on this channel, it would be for CLASSICS only. So, HSM is not allowed.

A classics-only type of channel would be awesome.

Though, even if such a thing will ever excist, it'll probably get low ratings. Followed by the adding of slightly newer (animated) programming - which wouldn't help. Followed by the adding of (slightly newer) live-action shows/movies - which would help a little more. Followed by the adding of popular acquired shows (a la Disney XD) to help add more ratings. Followed by the removal of the classic shows who get lower ratings. And there comes Disney Channel 3.0.

Not to be a party pooper, but it seems like Disney only cares about ratings. And what we want obviously doesn't get those ratings, elsewhise it would have already been done - or in this case preserved ('90s Disney Channel and begin-Toon Disney were this is some form).

Here's the LAME (Except for two) movie schedule for the first 14 days of March on DISNEY CHANNEL, movie wise:

March 1st - Hatching Pete (DCOM)
March 2nd - Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey
March 3rd- Wendy Wu (DCOM)
March 4th - Minutemen (DCOM)
March 5th - NO MOVIE
March 6th- Good Boy (NOT DISNEY)
March 7th -Starstruck (DCOM)
March 8th - Beethoven (NOT DISNEY)
March 9th -The Wild (rolls eyes: Disney's response to Madagascar)
March 10th -Finn on the Fly (NOT DISNEY)
March 11th - The Incredibles (Disney Pixar)
March 12th - NO MOVIE
March 13th - no movie, stupid 1 hour long episodes of sLOD and WOWP
March 14th -Lizzie McGuire Movie

I am watching the movie "MIRACLE" right now (On DVD). This has NEVER aired on Disney Channel and as far as I know, never aired on Disney XD (formerly ToonDisney). There are a TON of classic and modern Disney movies that aren't Lindsay Lohan or Anne Hathaway, that they could air on the current channel. In fact, "MIRACLE" fits right in with Disney XD's sports theme (that they have a lot). It'd be the perfect movie to air on that channel.
