and, now that it's become somewhat hard-to-find, eBay sellers are coming out of the woodwork claiming to have a copy (I nabbed the one from "Buy" who has a 98.9% rating, there, and says to have 3 more copies available - so if this goes well, I'll put in a recommendation for others to try them) :

I'm hoping that the scarcity of the Brady movies means Paramount is going to re-issue them later as Special Editions (complete with the deleted scenes that were integrated into the TV broadcasts of the movies). I have The Brady Bunch Movie, but always enjoyed A Very Brady Sequel more, probably because it was more irreverent and ridiculous than the first and felt aware that it was a parody of itself rather than a parody of the television series. Still, I don't feel like searching for the sequel simply because it's OOP. If I find it, I find it.

It would be pretty damn cool if Paramount would start releasing some of the 90's comedies in this Centenniel Edition series. Wayne's World could probably do with an upgrade, and the Brady Bunch movies would do nice with a special edition. And, did Beavis & Butthead Do America ever get any real bonus features? Why has the godawful Tommy Boy gotten far better treatment than any of these other far funnier and far less irritating movies?

You know something? It's possible Paramount is just pulling these discs so they can re-release them with those new covers without the "Widescreen Collection" banner. As they've done with countless others (Jennifer 8, Clue, Rosemary's Baby, Fatal Attraction - just to name those I came across yesterday evening during my trip to WalMart).

Baevis and Butthead Do America did get a "10th Anniversary Special Collector's Edition" - its an anniversary, special edition and collector's edition combined! How can it not be good?

It has a making of, various not-so-good featurettes and most importantly a andio commentary. It's not that special, but its better than nothing.

I doubt that it will be that soon if Paramount does any 90's re-release Stuart Saves His Family and Kids in the Hall - Brain Candy have been out of print of quite some time now....

Oddly enough Amazon says that my latest purchases is now OOP as well...

I've seen a double feature release of the Brady Bunch movies, probably flipper discs, but those are out there as well.

Well, Paramount really don't do flipper discs.

(Do they?)

I didn't know that.

(But, still, any movie deserved a 2-disc edition more than Tommy Boy!)
