I found this from another website (sorry Luke!

) If anyone is interested.
Proud of Your Boy
Proud of your boy
I'll make you proud of your boy
Believe me, bad as I've been, Ma
You're in for a pleasant surprise
I've wasted time
I've wasted me
So say I'm slow for my age
A late bloomer, okay, I agree
That I've been one rotten kid
Some son, some pride
and some joy
But I'll get over
these lousin' up
Messin' up, screwin' up times
You'll se, Ma,
now comes the better part
Someone's gonna make good
Cross his stupid heart
Make good and finally make you
Proud of your boy
Tell me that I've been
a louse and a loafer
You won't get a fight here,
no ma'am
Say I'm a goldbrick,
a goof-off, no good
But that couldn't
be all that I am
Water flows under the bridge
Let it pass, let it go
There's no good reason
that you should believe me
Not yet, I know, but
Someday and soon
I'll make you proud of your boy
Though I can't make myself taller
Or smarter or handsome or wise
I'll do my best, what else can I do?
Since I wasn't born
perfect like Dad or you
Mom, I will try to
Try hard to make you
Proud of your boy

I am really looking forward to this DVD. The "making of" featurette sounds really great. The new song sounds pretty good also. Just hope it does not stand out too much.

Sounds like a step up from The Lion King, but still not back to the benchmark that is Snow White.
Chances are, that Making-of featurette is only about 20 or 30 minutes. I wouldn't be surprised.

Or more likely, the "making of" will be several short segments.

Does anyone else think that it sounds like the new song "Proud of Your Boy" isn't being added to the movie itself? In the marketing for BATB & TLK, they specifically stated that a new musical number was being "seamlessly incorperated" into the films. Yet in the news stories for Aladdin, they just mention it as one of the bonus features.
I may be reading too much into it, but we'll see . . .

I think it will be included (optionally) into the film, because they go to great pains to point out the song has "newly completed animation".

At amazon.com they said that in the original script Aladdin had a mother and sung "proud of Your Boy", to her but in the release he doesn't have a mother. So how will they fit the song in? I was thinking they might make it a flash back or something, but i don't know.

I would be very suprised if Proud of Your Boy is included in the movie itself. Yes, it will be included as a newly completed sequence in the extras, but puting it in the movie would require a whole new subplot about Aladdin's mother which is a bit more than they're willing to do when adding these songs back in. Plus, in the specs, it's listed under Deleted Scenes.

Well, perhaps they changed the lyrics slightly from the original? So the mother is not required anymore?
I find it odd Disney would finish the animation for a deleted scene. Plus, we all know Aladdin was to be IMAXed and they like to add songs for IMAX. (I believe The Morning Report was to be IMAXed, but time contraints stopped it).

How can you call a Disney DVD collection without Bambi or Cinderella complete?! Eh, to each his own I guess. No biggie. Aladdin will be out on DVD this October according to this site.

Wow! The DVD sounds like it will be awesome!

I just hope that the feautures we saw listed were the tip of the ice berg and that there are a LOT more!!!!!!
Proud of your Boy is a great song, it is on the Music Behind the Magic set, that a few of us on this coard are very fortunate to have.
I suspect, as a few others have pointed out, that this will be in the abandoned concepts part of the DVD, similar to
I'm Odd. The quote that was first shown, said that is had penciled in parts, and besides, it just wouldn't be the best song to add... I mean they could do it, they could have it be a flash back or something, but it would be very iffy, therefore logic dictates that it will just be a bonus feature.
I hope they have cast interviews, or atleast spot light Scott Weigner, if no one else.
And ofcoarse, I'm still pushing for a box set!!!!
CAN'T WAIT!

I agree with you MickeyMouseboy.
Can't they just leave them as they are.
Why put a new part or song to the movie.
It changes the movie.
Look at Beauty and the Beast and Lion King.
