I've actually been working on an alphabetical list of 100 from the first ten years of '00s.
How?

I was scrolling through the wikipedia pages for this decade and I was surprised to see how few good films there've been.
My top ten:
1. Transamerica ~ The only reason I gave this movie a shot was because of Felicity Huffman. I was
so surprised I liked it this much. I have to admit that the transgendered have always made me a little uncomfortable (I don't think badly of them, just I feel weird around them, but this gave me a lot of empathy for people who go through those kinds of feelings. Also, Kevin Zeger and Fionnulla Flanagan give amazing performances alongside Huffman.
2. Nanny McPhee ~ To be honest, I liked this movie more than either
Mary Poppins and
Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Not to say it's the better-
made movie, but there's a certain charm to it that I don't get from those other Magic nanny-type films. Emma Thompson, of course, played the best part, but I thought Angela Lansbury, Imelda Staunton, Celia Imrie, and Thomas Sangster also did really great with their roles.
3. Stardust ~ I haven't read Stardust (though I would love to read it whenever I have the chance to buy it), but this movie turned out fantabulous. Throughout the whole movie, I think the actors could've easily made the film bad (Michelle Phiefer is one of those hit-and-miss actresses, and Robert de Niro's character was borderline), and yet they hit their roles perfectly. This movie just had a dark, sarcastic, magical feel to it that I loved.
4. Treasure Planet ~ So under-loved. Albeit having bad CGI integration, some annoying sidekicks, and annoying voice castings for some characters (Thompson's voice felt weird for Amelia; Martin Short's voice is grating; David Hyde Pierce, while a good actor, doesn't work very well just as a voice, imo), Jim makes the movie, and that's really all that needs to be said.
5. Moulin Rouge!
6. The Lord of the Rings series ~ I don't feel like wasting 3 spots for the same series. I'm so glad they got someone who could do this right--I don't think anyone else could or would have.
7. Hairspray ~ The music is excellent, which is the deciding factor for a musical (usually). While the story's rather fluffy, I think it works very well as-is (John Travolta is the best part of the whole movie for me

).
8. 3:10 to Yuma ~ I was really surprised, again, that I liked this. Yes, it's a remake and, yes, it's a
western, but Russel Crowe and Christian Bale keep what could have been an otherwise dull movie interesting.
9. Sweeney Todd ~ I hated this the first time I watched it. But around the 3rd time, I really liked it. Usually, I find Burton's style a little uncreative (he does the same monotone-for-boring v. color-for-happy in
every movie), but I think it worked well here. I actually wonder if he would be good for something like
Les Miserables. The music, while not the strongest in the world, actually worked very well. Depp and Carter do pretty good jobs, and Ed Sanders as Toby was a stand-out.
10. Spirited Away
The rest are some that I just enjoyed, but most are likely not in my all-time favorites list (some pretty good, some so-so). In no particular order:
Howl’s Moving Castle
Meet the Robinsons
Digimon: The Movie
The Road to El Dorado
The Tigger Movie
Titan A. E
Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas
Kung Fu Panda
The Phantom of the Opera
Artificial Intelligence
Rent
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (Yeah, the costumes, script and I-guess-you-would-call-it-camera-work were really bad, but I thought the child actors did so good that it gives the movie a charm you wouldn't expect)
Madea’s Family Reunion
Disturbia
Mamma Mia!
The Dark Knight
X-2
Saved!
Diary of a Mad Black Woman
Beauty Shop
The Devil Wears Prada
Doubt
A Series of Unfortunate Events
Australia
