which season n episode was this?

I believe it was a season premiere episode.
As for Seth McFarlane and Disney, I can see how he wouldn't like working at Disney. They have strict guides as to how to do things, and Seth seems to be the kind of guy that loves doing his own thing (its why he pretty much owns the Sunday night lineup at Fox).
But still, I think he is appreciate of the Disney style despite his mockery of the universe. At least, when I see FG parody Disney I don't see anger or hate.
The Animaniacs, however, when they parodied Disney they did it with a mean disposition, almost as if the WB wanted to diss and insult Disney due to them having more success in the animated field than them.

This is the first episode of season 8.
And if Family Guy only made fun of Disney, I might take offense to it, but Family Guy makes fun of EVERYTHING! It's all in good fun.
And, I also agree pap. Animaniacs took things too far

I loved that part of the episode and the song was, like all Family Guy songs btw, really nice. A very good season-opener and one of Family Guy's best moments of the last 2 years.
I was also impressed at how good the animation was and I loved Lois being princessified

the sequence was posted on Cartoonbrew, and in the comments we have more info on who's responsible for everything.
Sweet - I knew if Cartoon Brew liked this sequence, I did my job right! For this sequence to work, it could NOT have looked like “TV studio trying to look like a feature” …it had to look real. We were fortunate enough to work with Andrew Egiziano at Mainstreet Productions, who put together an amazing group of talented animators and artists.
Kyle - Darlie and Sandro did in fact animate this sequence, along with some excellent inbetweeners and cleanup artists. *round of applause*
If I remember correctly, Darlie animated everything through the scene with Peter holding Stewie in the air…then another animator (man, I can’t remember his name…) did the Cleveland skunk and Adam West mouse scenes….Sandro did “The bees making honey” scene through the scene where they all scream “NO!” to Herbert (although Darlie animated Herbert at the end of the 3D camera move) ..and then Darlie did the rest after that!
Sandro also did all the final character designs. I roughed out a lot of them myself, Mick Cassidy did Lois & Chris, Sharon Ross did Cleveland …but Sandro took our designs and really made them LEGIT!
I can’t forget to mention Tony Pulham - he designed/painted all of the backgrounds and colored the characters.
Everyone involved in this episode, especially the Disneyverse, went above and beyond…..thank you!

Thanks for confirming it for me Kyle
As you can tell from Sandro's blog, he's an amazingly talented character designer too (if you haven't checked it out yet, I advise you to do so). Its nice to see the names of the rest involved, although it sounds like Darlie came close to animating the whole sequence herself (she seems to be a workaholic). Kudos to those involved and the Family Guy producers for arranging all of this.

I think the whole episode was funny in general! Hopefully, this will be a great season.

pap64 wrote:I also suspect that deep down, Seth McFarlane must be a Disney fan. He has made numerous references to Disney. There was the Minnie posing nude gag in one episode, the anti semitic joke in the Stewie movie, the Disney romance joke in the episode in which Quagmire gets married, and now we have this whole segment which is designed to look like a Disney film.
Really, I doubt someone that hates Disney would go through this much trouble

.
There was also a Jafar sequence, the crows and the mock up of DisneyLand + It's a Small World.
It was all good until the old and tired jew joke. That ruin it.

To this day, I STILL wonder how the "Disney hates jews" urban legend started.
Was this generated by a belief by Seth or someone else?

Because Disney was German. So he must have been a Nazi. So he must have hated Jews. The idea Disney hates Jews has been around since WWII.

Thanks for the link, Siren! It helped a lot since I never understood the joke behind the "Disney hated Jews" joke.
But that still doesn't explain his desire to eat the flesh of Cuban children...

That and also I believe Hitler commented how he loves Disney's Snow White movie so much or something like that.
